Sema powder stability issues?

Hi everyone,

I'm really hoping someone can help me figure this out. I've been using freeze-dried Sema in 5mg vials for a while now, mixing it with 0.9% NaCl. It stayed good in the fridge for over a month. But now I've switched to raw semaglutide powder from the same place. I mixed it with NaCl, and I even added 1% benzyl alcohol myself and filtered it with a .22 micron filter to make 5mg in 1 ml vials. I've tried it a few times, but after about two or three weeks, the solution gets cloudy and stringy. Shaking it makes the flakes and strings disappear for a little while, but they come back in like half an hour. Any thoughts on why it's not stable? Could the pH of the filler be off? Should I just use regular 0.9% NaCl? Or maybe some pre-made BAC water? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's probably because you're using raw instead of the freeze-dried stuff that worked before. I've never heard of using raw peptides except maybe for skin creams. I'd toss it.

I have the same problem even with freeze-dried sema dissolved in 0.9% NaCl and 1% benzyl alcohol. It starts after about 3 weeks. I'm wondering what's causing it.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I was hoping the raw powder would be more cost-effective, but maybe it's just not worth the trouble. I might go back to the freeze-dried vials.
