Sema stopped working?? Anyone else?

Has sema stopped working for anyone here, like the title says?

Some background: I started sema via my PCP in early '24. Shed about 15-20 pounds. Then I lost my job and had to stop taking it, and I unfortunately gained all of that weight back plus around 10 pounds. I started taking it again and tried an online service called, uh, Mochi. The difference between what I got from my doctor and what I got from them was insane. I felt nothing with Mochi. It felt like injecting water, no matter how much I upped the dose. (Plus their service was horrible and they basically stole my money and never delivered my last few months, but that's another story).

After getting a new job I ditched Mochi and went back to my doctor, and I've been on it again for almost a year now. I've lost around 15lbs, so not quite back to where I was. But no matter how high I go on the dosage, it just doesn't seem to work anymore. I've completely plateaued and haven't lost anything in maybe two months. My doctor put me on Ozempic for a couple weeks to try it out, but it didn't make a difference.

When I first started back in 2024, even the lowest dose made me feel seriously sick. I was so nauseous when I was on 0.25-0.5mg. Now I'm at 1.25mg and barely feel it. I don't feel like I'm eating a lot, but I'm not losing anything. When it WAS working, I was losing weight super slowly. I never lost more than 1lb/week, and most times it was more like 0.5lb/week.

I'm losing my mind because I don't know what to do and I'm wondering if even this "miracle drug" won't help me lose weight. I'm starting to feel like I'll never be skinny again :( I appreciate any advice or encouragement.

Ugh, I hate Mochi. But, if you've already been on a GLP-1 before, you'll often need a stronger dose before you feel anything the next time you take it.

What was the highest dose you got to before? Most people need to get back to or higher than that to feel the effects again.

Does anyone else think about walking/exercise while on GLP-1 meds? I aim for 20,000 steps on weekdays. My watch says that I burn about 3,000 calories/day. I'm on Wegovy and down 70 lbs in like 7 months... but I get my steps in!

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'm aiming for a calorie deficit, but maybe I'm not being strict enough about tracking. And I should definitely try to move more, Dakota1976. I didn't realize how many steps you were taking. That's amazing!

Thanks HeartCake. It's definitely a grind. I started very slowly and worked my way up to that level. I would try to add steps gradually, and increase them week by week.

Echoing what everyone else is saying - it really might be your calorie count.

... but "feeling" like you aren't eating a lot and actually tracking carefully are two different things. I'd suggest tracking absolutely *everything* that you put into your mouth for a week. Weigh it all, measure it all, and see how much you're really consuming. I bet you'll be surprised.

Thanks, everyone. I'll focus on tracking and exercise and see if it makes a difference. I guess I was hoping for a miracle, haha.
