Started at 220lbs, kinda prediabetic, and loved my beer.

Now I'm 175 and feel amazing!

Trainer 3x a week.

Hardly any alcohol since starting sema (honestly, that's the biggest change!).

So happy for everyone's success! Keep it going!

Amazing!! Huge congrats! Especially cutting back on alcohol, that's a real win. Seeing people beat addiction gives me hope. Thanks for sharing your story.

Some addiction specialists are studying how these meds might treat addiction in the brain. Could be a game-changer for helping addicts! Thanks to pharma research! Lol!

So glad you're doing so well!

If you're looking for more info, check out Andrew Huberman; he's got a podcast. Here's an interview: https://youtu.be/QlBh0Gqq77Q?si=vJGqjVuEbEuPoY9f. I quit alcohol a few times. Each time I started again, I gained weight back and lost motivation. It always messed me up. I thought drinking was just 'what you did' with friends. Never thought about kayaking instead of going to a bar. Now I know better. Alcohol is poison to my body. I quit three years ago, hopefully for good. Lost 70lbs, walk 3 miles daily, and use playground equipment for strength training. It took a year for my dopamine to regulate. Congrats on your choices, hard work, and success!

Can you share your workout routine? Did it evolve? Weights and cardio?

Yeah man, I'm doing weights about twice a week now, focusing on compound movements. The other day is usually HIIT cardio. It's changed a bit over the year, earlier on it was mostly cardio just to get moving and drop the weight fast, then I transitioned into lifting more.

I've read some interesting research about GLP-1s affecting the brain's reward centers, like the nucleus accumbens. It seems like these medications can blunt dopamine responses. I've seen firsthand that it can reduce cravings for sweets and alcohol. There's even a "Dryzempic" community forming up around this idea.

Wow, that's really interesting about the alcohol cravings. I've been on the fence about trying this, but maybe it could help me kick the habit. I can easily down 6-7 beers in one sitting.

If you've tried to stop before and couldn't, it might be worth a shot. It's like a break for your brain. I hear the cravings can come back a bit at lower doses, but even then, people drink less and feel sick if they overdo it. Maybe give non-alcoholic beers a try too!
