Sema, wine and emotional needs?

I was a huge fan of dry white wine (basically a high-functioning alcoholic, lol). White wine has tons of sugar, but I adore the flavor. Semaglutide has been a miracle for my craving for alcohol and my emotional need for sugary treats. I've been making jokes about my double chin my whole life and never thought this would be possible but here we are! I continue to be surprised by sema!

Thank you for posting here!

A friendly reminder about the rules. Discussions about non-approved versions of semaglutide are not allowed, and neither is offering to buy or sell any medication. Do not respond to private messages from anyone offering such things. They are not endorsed here.

I lost about 40 pounds when I cut out my daily wine habit! That was without any meds, just eliminating the empty calories! I put it back on eventually, but quitting drinking was still a smart move!

You look totally different. It's wild because some people lose over 100 pounds and their face still looks basically the same.

Like some people said previously, addiction is tough. I miss junk food emotionally. I feel like I need to wallow in an unhealthy meal, but sema stops me which is a positive and a negative at the same time. I'm still working on healing on the inside and out. I'm doing awesome. You're all doing awesome. The world is better with all of us in it. Don't let your past define you! Keep going!

I agree with BG_Checker. For me, food turned into a new addiction. In about 90 days, it has changed my world. I'm down about 30 pounds, and it's like the heaviest load has lifted. I will probably be on this for the rest of my life as it was so hard for me every day, and I pay out of pocket. It is truly an extremely effective medication for individuals dealing with compulsive eating and episodes of binge eating.

That's great news to hear! I was a heavy smoker for over 20 years, I've got absolutely no desire for alcohol. I've also dropped 150 pounds. Ozempic has been a blessing. I don't care what anyone else says, I'm grateful for this med.
