Skin removal after weight loss?

Something I didn't expect - my eyes look bigger! I guess I had a lot of fat around my eyebrows, haha.

Anyone else notice unexpected changes?

Totally! My feet got smaller. All my shoes are too big now!

Had something similar with another supplier once - label just had numbers and a barcode, no info on what was actually in it. Guy said it was legit but couldn't prove it. I didn't want to fight so I took the loss and never ordered from them again.

Brain and skin adjust slower than the loss happens. Stuck in that weird middle spot where you look fine dressed but feel off naked. That deflated thing occurs a lot. Strength training is the biggest fix. Does not gotta be intense just regular.

54lbs is massive. After losing 70lbs in 14 months I had to replace basically my whole closet - socks, underwear, everything. It's one of those side effects nobody warns you about.

I looked into that stack after my own weight drop. The muscle retention part is real - especially if you're young and training hard. Water bloat cleared fast for me once the cycle ended. My thought is you've lost enough that you can afford to focus on building now instead of chasing more loss. The recovery peptides might be worth the conversation with your doc.

The reframing of loose skin as the same skin without the fill is actually useful for how you approach it. Some of it does shrink over time, especially in younger people - 26 is a good age for that recovery. What's still left to lose at this point?

the area expansion versus stretch distinction is the key one for setting realistic expectations - skin that was simply stretched by excess fat can retract to varying degrees with time, but skin that grew new area to cover significantly more surface is a different structural situation. peptide protocols and topical treatments support what can recover naturally, but they don't reverse area expansion. at 170 lbs of loss the surgical consultation is worth having regardless of whether you decide to proceed

the balloon analogy is accurate enough to explain the skin elasticity mechanics to people who have not experienced major weight fluctuation - the structural protein matrix does degrade with repeated stretching and the rebound capacity diminishes with each cycle. the 170lb loss as a first major loss rather than the third or fourth puts the elasticity picture in a different category than the repeat-loss experience

That's incredible, congratulations! If you don't mind me asking, did loose skin end up being an issue for you? Honestly a bit worried about that part myself.

Gonna push back on that, speaking as someone about to go through extensive reconstructive surgery after dropping 144 pounds. What OP's asking about really only gets fixed surgically.
