Where people run into trouble is not trusting the process itself. Running 2mg for the first four weeks is the standard starting point for obese patients, and that's not purely about limiting side effects, it's also about metabolic stability. Jumping in high doesn't actually get you more benefit from reta overall. What it does get you is stronger appetite suppression, which might show maybe 2-3 percent extra weight loss early on purely from glycogen and water shedding, but stretched across a full 12 weeks it won't add up to more total weight lost, and what does come off skews less toward actual fat compared to titrating up gradually.
On the flip side, keeping the dose low for an extended stretch won't get you those metabolic shifts either, the ones people are actually chasing with reta in the first place.
