Slow losers, unite!

Started semaglutide near the end of June '24, and I've only managed to shed around 25 pounds. Progress is progress, though! Just wanted to encourage anyone else not seeing rapid results to hang in there and keep going!

25 pounds is still awesome! I've dropped about 28 pounds since December, so I guess I'm a fast responder? Haha. But I have a ton more to lose...like 100+. I'm sure starting weight makes a difference. Keep up the awesome work!

That's so great! You're right, be kind to yourself and celebrate the changes. Gradual progress is usually better anyway!

Finally, some content for the truly slow responders! I know "slow" is subjective, but some of us are tired of people who lost 50 pounds in six months complaining about slow progress, lol.

I'm 5'5" and have been on this for A YEAR. Started around 230, now I'm bouncing between 207-209. I'm on the highest dose of Wegovy and I've stalled. Switching to tirzepatide soon, but I'm so bummed out. The money, the time...I feel stuck because I don't want to gain back what little I've lost.

Please don't lecture me about diet and exercise. I'm doing all the right things. This isn't a failure on my part; it's just a slow/no response, and it sucks.

Very encouraging to hear! I'm also losing slowly, which is what I wanted to minimize skin sagging and hair loss. Started in August and lost around the same amount as you, which puts me halfway to my goal. It's not super noticeable on me, though, since I'm 5'10".

That's amazing progress!! 🤩

I've noticed the rate slows as you near your goal weight. I'm currently at your starting weight of 166 (down from 233), and the loss is definitely slowing. Keep it up! Slowly but surely! 🙌

I’m a slow responder too! Down about 30 lbs since the beginning of August. But I'm intentionally going slow to minimize loose skin. I get bummed sometimes, but I have to remind myself this is what I wanted! 🤣

On week 3 of the starter dose, and I don't have much appetite suppression. Only lost 2 pounds so far :/ I know it's way too early to get discouraged, lol.

Wow, Fit-Road, that's a huge difference! I'm super proud of you. I'm on tirzepatide now, and the weight seems to be coming off faster. I've lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I heard a lot of people are switching because of that. I found a great company to order from that has amazing prices! 😊

My starting weight is exactly the same as yours, Fit-Road! Starting sema next month, and your post got me excited! You look amazing, I really hope you feel fabulous!

Did you have any side effects when you first started? I'm a little nervous about feeling sick.

Bobby45 Thanks! The side effects weren't too bad. I got a little nauseous at first, but it went away after a few weeks. Just make sure to stay hydrated and eat small meals.

Drew1984 2 lbs is still progress! Don't get discouraged so early on. It takes time for the meds to build up in your system. Everyone responds differently.

I'm trying to lose about 100 pounds, myself. I've been hospitalized a bunch lately because my health took a nosedive. I've never been this heavy or unhealthy before. Usually around 150-160. I'm on 1mg of Ozempic, but I'm still getting hungry. Am I doing something wrong?

Bobby45 It might be worth talking to your doctor about increasing your dosage if you're still feeling hungry on 1mg. Everyone's different, and you might need a higher dose to get the full effect. Also, focus on protein and fiber to help you feel fuller longer! Good luck – you CAN do this!
