Slow progress buddies?

Anyone else feel like they're losing weight at a snail's pace but still seeing results after a year? I'm curious to hear your journeys!

I've been on this medication for about a year now, recently upped my dose to 10mg (the side effects are kicking my butt a bit). I've managed to drop 25.45kgs, which is about 56 pounds. I'm currently at 92kgs, or around 202 pounds, and honestly, I'm feeling pretty good overall! Losing that much weight is a major accomplishment. My BMI is still hovering around 32, which is a bummer, but it's moving in the right direction. I know BMI isn't perfect, but it's a decent way to gauge progress.

I hit the weights 2-3 times a week and try to walk 3-5km most days. Exercise is becoming much easier as I shed more weight.

I'm especially interested in hearing from other "slow" losers! I've probably got another 15-20kgs to go before I'm in a healthier range, according to BMI. It doesn't seem to matter how much I exercise or how little I eat – and believe me, there have been weeks where I've barely eaten anything! – I'm still only losing around 500g a week. It's almost like my body has a set pace.

Bodies are so weird, right? Everyone's different!

I'm not a slow loser initially (lost about 60 lbs in 7 months), but my weight loss has slowed to about 600g a week which is similar to your pace. I still have 15kg to go. At 500-600g a week, we'll reach our goals by the end of the year! I'm trying to focus on how much better I feel with each kg, not just the final goal.

People have said the last 15kg have a bigger impact, because you're smaller now. So 3kg lost now will be more noticeable than 3kg at 115-120kg!

Consistency is key, good luck!

You're not a slow loser at all. You've been losing consistently at a healthy rate for a year. That is great!

I know you want it to be faster, but it is what it is, and you're doing better than last year.

I'm about 6 weeks behind you, with a similar rate of loss.

I was considered a slow loser at first, averaging around a pound a week. 2.5 years later, I'm down 119 lbs and 47% of my starting weight because I kept losing at that steady pace.

Idk if I'd call that slow, but it's awesome either way. Comparison is the thief of joy. Focus on how much healthier YOU are now. That's amazing!!

Been on this since March 2024.

It took 10 mg to see improvements in my A1C and weight. Once I got to 10 mg, I was in a normal BMI in 9 months! Now I'm on 5 mg to maintain my weight, and so far, it's working.

Best of luck!

This is so inspiring! It really shows that consistency pays off, even if the progress feels slow at times.

Hey @Jess_61, congrats on your journey, even if it feels slow. I'm only in week 7 and haven't seen a ton of movement, but I'm sticking with it. Did you notice more changes in clothing sizes than on the scale at first?

Can weight loss even happen if you don't work out? I'm nervous about starting an exercise routine but really want this to work.

Yes, weight loss is totally possible without increasing your activity! The meds help regulate appetite and blood sugar, which are the main drivers. Exercise just helps to tone up and burn more calories, but it's not essential initially. Start slow if you're nervous!

Thanks, @L_M_B_Life! Yeah, I did notice my clothes fitting better even before the scale moved a ton. It's a good way to track progress when you feel discouraged!

Looking for a BPC-157 supplier for my husband's rotator cuff recovery. Had it blended before but dosing was different so not sure it even helped. Any recs?

started low dose last week and the food noise fog cleared within minutes. stuck to my deficit super easy all day. grabbed a planned snack and forgot to finish it halfway—never happens. dinner was take-it-or-leave-it. is this how thin people live?

for tesamorelin, science says daily is fine if you don't get sides. if sides show up, drop frequency, not dose. minimum effective dose is 2mg. cycling is important too—receptor desensitization is real. i run tesa with ipamorelin most days and cycle off at twelve weeks.
