Slow progress is STILL progress!

Just popping in to remind everyone that even small wins are still wins! I started my journey around mid-April last year at 220lbs, and as of today, I'm hovering around 175lbs. That's roughly 45lbs down!

It might not be as dramatic as some others, but when I catch my reflection, it's like seeing a totally different person. I've gone from squeezing into a size 22 to comfortably fitting into a 16. My face is noticeably slimmer, and I can actually keep up with my kids when we're running around without gasping for air after 2 minutes.

It's so tempting to compare yourself to others, but honestly, the best comparison is with your past self. Even if you're camera-shy, seriously consider snapping some before pics! Take them in the same spot for consistency! You'll be amazed at the difference when you look back.

You look great! That outfit really suits you.

And yeah, losing just under 5 pounds a month, or around a pound a week, is a very sensible way to do it. Plus, the way your clothes fit tells a bigger story than the scale!

I love hearing from others who are also taking it slow. I began in the middle of June 2024 and have managed to drop about 30lbs. I used to be disheartened by my progress, but I'm actually really thankful now. Hoping to lose another 10lbs or so, and I haven't even reached the highest dose yet.

The more gradual the weight loss, the less likely it is to shock your system, and the easier it is for your body to adapt. Those crazy fad diets are a disaster; they throw your body into survival mode, causing it to hoard every single calorie, which leads to rebound weight gain. Your progress is fantastic. You should be incredibly proud!

Another tortoise here! The starting dose did nothing for me, but I jumped up to the next one on September 4th and have shed about 35lbs since then. You look amazing! Slow and steady wins the race!

I'm on a pretty similar track, so this is really encouraging! You look fantastic! I even have the same outfit in black! Now I wanna wear it, lol!

Thank you for this post! On Feb 12th it'll be a year for me and I've lost about 50 pounds. I sometimes feel like it should be more by now, but I try to not focus on that and just look at all the small victories along the way.

Another slow and steady person here -- I'm hitting the one year mark next week and I'm down just over 30#. I have around a dozen more pounds to go to hit my goal weight. I'm on this primarily for type 2 diabetes so I know I'll likely be on it forever (or until something even better comes along) so I'm not in a rush to increase dosages or speed up the weight loss. I'm just happy to see the numbers trending down and my fantastic blood sugar levels. Also my cholesterol is much better, which is a huge plus!

Exactly! It's easy to get caught up in wanting faster results, but focusing on the small wins keeps you motivated. Plus, it's all about sustainability!

I saw someone mention they've lost 100 pounds since April! That's incredible and such an inspiration. I hope they're super proud!

Wow, that's amazing! I bet they feel like a new person. It's encouraging to hear about successes like that, even if my own journey is slower.

I love seeing progress pics! Someone on another thread was taking them in the same clothes to really highlight the difference week by week. Such a good idea!
