Slow Start on GLP-1s?

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Curious about the fuller picture here, starting weight? current weight? how long on GLP medications? age? height?
Wondering whether this is a post-loss issue, where the medication's technically still preventing regain but isn't pushing further loss, or more of a poor-response situation from the start?
Interesting that the effect only lasted a short window for you. Generally speaking there isn't strong evidence for developing tolerance to GLP medications, though I do wonder how that holds up for people who respond weakly to begin with.

My provider wants me on a gentler ramp-up since she'd rather I focus on nutrition and behavior changes instead of leaning entirely on what the glp1 does. Not bothered by that, at least not yet, since this time around I'd genuinely like to build things slowly and reasonably so the weight stays off and my blood pressure comes down for good. I hear your frustration completely. Glad the side effects have mostly spared you though.

Either you are not tracking calories or your intake is not below your needs. Many people, maybe not you, believe these drugs dissolve fat effortlessly. The trick is to run a deficit on purpose at first, logging calories in a free app. You will not need it forever, only until a higher dose brings more appetite suppression and eating less gets easier

I side with the other replies. The first .25 and .5 doses are basically loading, real therapy begins around 1mg and needs a few doses to build. LOG YOUR CALORIES, please. It's surprisingly easy to land on maintenance calories on GLP-1 treatment, especially if you used to overeat and gain steadily. You might feel you've cut back plenty when really you've just stopped overeating, which yields slow loss and, above all, an end to weight gain. Your deficit isn't big enough relative to your BMR or TDEE. A food log is the only sure way to confirm a deficit, and my fiber, protein and hydration numbers go in there too.

Mine is slow too, and my insulin resistance is high on top of that. From reading around here it looks like folks with IR tend to lose more slowly. Not sure yet if im just a slow responder, im seeing my endo this week about a higher dose, hoping that speeds things up.

Measuring yourself against others gets you nowhere. Seven lbs came off even before my first shipment arrived, since I was morbidly obese with a lot of inflammation. Genetics and gut bacteria play a part in response, so probiotics may help, but realistically your response isnt in your control. A healthy pace is roughly half to one percent of bodyweight weekly, so go up a step each month till you land near the top of that range. Yet pushing doses higher for tiny gains is pointless. Cooperate with the medication and how you respond rather than fighting it. I have used GLP-1s for 22 months and have been maintaining for 2. My worst calls all came from impatience. We sometimes need to stop standing in our own way.
