Slow & Steady Wins the Race?

It's been a journey! From 225 down to 185 over about four years. Been hovering around 185 for a year now, but I've been seeing some body recomposition and getting stronger. Had a full hysterectomy a few years back, which throws a wrench in the works. I'm pretty happy with how I look and feel. Trying to lose those last few pounds, just upped my dose to 15, but my insurance cut me off last year, so now I'm shelling out the savings card price. Seeing people drop a TON of weight quickly can be discouraging, but I'm focusing on health and longevity!

That sounds like a sustainable pace for you! You look amazing. And yes you must be tall as well. Thanks for sharing your story!

You look great and happy! I can't use GLP-1s, but I was lurking here a while back trying to see if they'd be an option. I've struggled to go from 230 to 179 (where I am now). I’m 5’5 and pushing 50 so those peri-menopause hormones are NO joke. Congrats on your success!

My progress has been gradual as well. I've been on something similar for about a year now, and I've only dropped around 30 pounds. Went from 230 to just under 200. I'm looking and feeling better, and my blood sugar is way better. I just wish it was faster!

That's fantastic! I'm sorry your insurance isn't covering it right now, but you look wonderful, and I bet you feel amazing too! :-)

Awesome job! I totally relate. I see those HUGE drops others are having and wonder what I'm doing wrong. But I'm down about 5 stone in 2 years, and at a weight I haven't been in nearly 2 decades. It's hard work, but I'm so happy with my progress, and I feel in control for the first time in forever. It's not a quick fix, and I'm okay with that. ☺️🙌

You look great and really happy, and healthy. Comparing our progress to others can diminish the success we're having in our own way, in our own time. We all approach this differently. What matters is getting to a healthy and sustainable place, and you've done that. Congrats!!

There is absolutely nothing you should be worrying about. You look healthy, happy, and fabulous! Do NOT let comparison steal your joy. Nobody lives your life but you, and if you’re happy, that is all that matters~ seriously 🙌🏻

I saw a post the other day from someone who dropped over 130 pounds! It's so inspiring. She looked great, but more importantly, she was saying she felt amazing. That's the real goal, right?

Yes! That's absolutely right. Feeling good and having more energy is just as important as the number on the scale.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and support! It really helps to hear. I am happy. The numbers are just a thing in my head. I've come a long way and truly appreciate the reminders!
