Slow & Steady Wins the Race!

I've always found comfort in reading posts from those who experience gradual weight loss, since that's been my journey as well. Hoping my experience can encourage others to persevere! I began semaglutide around January this year, and after about 39 weeks, I've managed to shed approximately 39 pounds. While it averages to about a pound a week, the actual loss varied from week to week.

I wish I could be one of those people who see rapid results, but I'm grateful for any progress I make. My goal is to reach 165 lbs. I'm 5' 7", and I started around 232. The 'before' picture shows me about a month in, down about four pounds. My husband and I are consistent with weightlifting, and I'm really seeing some good results. I’m thinking if I can get back to regular 45 min daily walks, I might see a faster pace, plus it will be great for my heart even if I stay at about a pound a week. I mainly wanted to share this to give back some of the encouragement I've received from others facing similar challenges! 😀

Thanks for posting to our community! Remember our rules: No discussing or sourcing non-approved meds, and definitely no buying/selling of anything. Be careful about DMs from sketchy people offering meds.

That's amazing! You even seem taller! 😁

A pound a week is honestly the ideal pace. It's more sustainable that way.

I'm also seeing slow but steady progress, around .9 lbs per week. I'm trying to focus on the long-term process, not just the quick win. Still aiming for good calories, lots of protein and fiber. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thirty-nine pounds in thirty-nine weeks is fantastic, consistent progress! Would you mind if I shared this on the community? We're gathering before and after stories to make them easier to find. You're welcome to post it there yourself if you'd prefer.

Finally, someone with similar stats!

Awesome job! I'm at 227 and looking forward to getting under 219; focusing on those smaller goals is key. Staying positive is easier when progress is gradual.

Thanks a lot for your post and this source of support!

Congratulations. That's my goal too. I'm also good with a pound a week. Down about 7.5lbs from 235, getting ready for my 6th shot. I'm 5'8, so pretty similar to you. You already look fantastic.

This is totally me! Focusing on small victories to stay in high spirits. I love reading posts like this.

For those of you just starting out, don't get discouraged if it's not super fast. My friend started Mounjaro last year, was at her heaviest around 200 (she's 5'6"), and now she's down to 115! Completely changed her life.

I remember being ecstatic when I finally saw the scale dip below 300 again. I hadn't been under 300 since before my kid was born! This stuff really feels like a miracle sometimes.

Please do! The more people we can encourage, the better.
