Someone Said Something Nice!

So, my friend is a total straight shooter, says what she thinks, no filter. She's a transplant from NY, super tough. She managed to drop and keep off almost 100 lbs like, 15 yrs ago. Total inspiration.

I don’t see her all that often, but we bumped into each other the other day, and I was ready for the worst about my weight loss journey.

Instead, she was so supportive! She thinks these meds are amazing, especially since she knows I’ve been having a hard time managing my type 2 diabetes.

She knew me when I was at my heaviest (about 320), and now she sees me at my lightest since high school (~195).

Just thought I'd share something positive!

It's so nice when people have something good to say about our choices!

I ran into a colleague I haven't seen in ages. She's seen me at my heaviest too. She's… not the most tactful person. She just point-blank asked if I was using Ozempic. I told her the truth and waited for the other shoe to drop. But she said it was awesome that we have these tools available now! Made my day.

I saw something online that really resonated with me re: the hate some people have towards those of us using these meds. It's like suddenly people think the weight just magically disappears and we aren't putting in any work. As if the meds are doing all the work and we're not also watching what we eat and exercising... It's a tool, people! Nothing more.

Totally! It's so frustrating when people act like it's a 'magic bullet.' I've lost about 45 pounds since last year, and I'm still working my butt off with diet and exercise. It's just so much easier now to stay consistent.

Exactly!

I know right?! It's like, people assume I'm not trying, but it's the first time in my life I actually believe I can reach my goals. I'm down almost 130 pounds so far from my highest weight and have another 50ish to go to be in the normal range.

Maybe some folks think it's easy, but it's still work! And I'm proud of myself for sticking with it.

I'm curious, has anyone looked into how long peptides stay good for? I have some stuff in the freezer that's been there for a few years. Wondering if it's still effective.

Interesting question, Riley03. I've seen some research suggesting that frozen peptides can degrade over time, but if the temp stays constant, the degradation might be minimal. It's probably still worth trying. You might just need a slightly higher dose to achieve the same effect.
