Spacing out doses for maintenance?

Officially hit my goal! Started at 260, now I'm stable around 160. I'm buying my meds each month and wondering about stretching out my 5mg doses now that I'm in maintenance. Any advice? Appreciate this community!

Wow, you look fantastic! It's amazing what these meds can do for our health. I started around 265 and my goal is to be in the 150s. No advice, just wanted to say you're inspiring me!

Congrats! If cost is a concern, have you looked into Zepbound? It's the same stuff, and you can get a 5mg dose for around $550 a month through their direct program.

Or, if you're okay with splitting doses, some online pharmacies in the US will ship 15mg pens for around $1100-1200 a box, which would last you three months.

I'm a nurse, and I see this a lot. If you're comfortable with splitting doses, I'd advise looking into it. Some people inject the pen into a sterile vial (easily found online) and then use insulin syringes to measure out the doses.

So, a 15mg pen should cost about the same. Put the 15mg into the vial. That's 0.5ml of liquid. If you want a 5mg dose, draw out 1/3 of the 0.5ml each week. One 15mg pen can last you 3 weeks!

Looking good! I'm at 100lbs lost since January, but I've stalled a bit this month. I found a compounding pharmacy that sells a 6-week supply of 10mg for $525. I tried spreading my injections to every 10 days instead of 7, but the food cravings came back hard. Back to 7-day injections to stay on track!

I haven't hit maintenance yet either. A friend went through this a few years ago and lost a lot of weight with Mounjaro before it was popular. She takes one 7.5 mg injection every 3 weeks or so, whenever she notices her cravings returning. She's been maintaining her weight loss for a couple of years now. That's my plan!

I stretched my shots to 14 days, but i would keep losing weight. My doc wants me to stay stable for a year before doing anything else. Great job, you look transformed!

I've noticed the appetite suppression isn't as strong after about a year and a half. I ended up gaining back a bit, but thankfully was it easy to get back on track.
