Stall for Months

Had rapid weight loss initially, dropping close to half my starting weight. Been on mounjaro roughly three years now. Despite staying on a strong dose, gained back a meaningful chunk over the past year. Just can't seem to budge regardless of what gets tried. Sixty-two years old, average height, and currently sitting well above where things stalled. Any tips for kickstarting things again? A1C has stayed excellent this whole time though, down dramatically from where it started.

Hang in there, it takes time. Took me close to three years total to drop 130 pounds, though my A1c went from 11 down to under 6 within just six months. Didn't see the scale really move until I hit 7.5, then it suddenly felt like magic. Got stuck at 250 for half a year, had to overhaul a bunch of habits, and now I'm at 220 and still moving, currently running 10mg.

Sitting at 2.5mg for two and a half years now. Down 80 pounds total, and my A1C dropped from 11.7 to 5.7 in that time. Zero metformin, zero insulin in the mix, just the Mounjaro carrying all of it. If your current dose is getting results, there's no rule saying you have to climb higher.

Going through the exact same thing. On M for two and a half years, lost a solid amount but stalled for the past year. Still running 15mg just to keep things in check, otherwise my appetite goes wild. Managed to hold my weight steady through the stall, but no calorie deficit plan I try seems to budge it further.

Been on the second compound for one year and eight months, down 70lbs, roughly 23% off my peak. Started at 2.5, currently sitting at 7.5.

Hit two separate plateaus along the way.

Things worth trying:

Bumping the dose (though this is genuinely my last option, even listed first here)

Switching injection spots. My thigh works best personally, but rotating through a few different sites for a stretch can help. (Stomach injections give me rougher side effects)

Shift your injection day to whenever you're least around food. Used to do mine on weekends, but that's exactly when snacking temptation is highest for me. So I moved it midweek, meaning the day before and the day of I'm stuck at work. No fridge or pantry access, just whatever lunch I packed.

Log what you eat. Stopped doing that after the initial months, but going back to it really helps push past a stall.

Most of my stalls got broken by upping water and cutting calories further. For a stretch after that it took a ridiculous amount of cardio to get things moving again. Lately started mots-c and that cracked another stall open. Thinking about trying 5-amino-1MQ next. Still got roughly 13 to go with two months on the clock. Hoping it works out.

For context, Wellbutrin's been part of my routine for a long stretch before Mounjaro ever entered the picture, and I've never noticed it doing much for appetite suppression. Wouldn't stress too much over a month-long stall either. Hit a wall myself right around the start of the year for close to a month, then went on to drop another 21 lbs afterward. Plateaus happen. Double check your calorie tracking and macros, and stay hydrated. What would concern me more is the rise in food noise you mentioned, and it does seem strange your doctor isn't willing to bump the dose given that.

Sounds like a total mixed bag. I read loads of stories of it smashing a stall, and about as many saying it did nothing. Could be the person, could be the supplier, who knows. I'm stuck too, almost 50 lbs down after 6 months with a long way left. If Cagri doesnt work, I'll push Tirz higher. Currently 12.5 with six days between shots and fine going above 15 if needed.

Raise this with your doctor or dietician first, since they'll know how to restart, IF they consider it doable, and they'll surely insist on a strict diet to avoid a repeat. Mounjaro can mentally help with bad-food urges, though in my experience that grows gradually. When you restart, keep zero 'bad food' at home and stock easy alternatives. Since October 25 I've lost 17kg, slower than most because I work in the candy and chocolate trade. I eat waaay less and healthier, sugar intake has dropped but not vanished, a hurdle most people avoid. Everyone has own pace and hurdles. Consider asking for a 1.25 start to feel less insecure after that traumatic event.

Stalled since October 2025 here. T2 is why I take it and my A1C is controlled, so my doctor won't let me go above 10. I'm at 160-165 now and 150 is where my healthy BMI range begins, so once I came close to that, only 20-25 pounds away, progress crawled even with a deficit and exercise. What helped: first, a 2 week break and then restarting. It sometimes jolts things. Second, you're already at max dose, so shortening the gap to 5-6 days between shots isn't recommended. Higher doses are in testing but not standard yet. Third, a hard look at my diet, since old habits like more sugar had crept back. Fourth, the scale stayed put but my body changed, almost two dress sizes smaller. My situation isn't identical to yours, but I think I'm gaining muscle faster than losing fat.

Over 2 years on Mounjaro for me and my scale has barely moved for more than twelve months. I am a 59 year old male, type 2, 6'3, began at 325 and now hover near 280. Losing more is a big wish, yet I have stalled out completely. Ozempic came first but hit my mood, and my spouse said to drop it asap!! After about 6 months I got on Mounjaro once insurance covered it. I am stumped on how to restart my loss, if that is even possible.
