Still got drive, but can't finish?!

Okay, this is a little embarrassing, but I'm hoping someone understands. I've seen threads about decreased libido while on these meds, but I'm experiencing something different.

I still have the desire, and everything works, but it's like... the last step is super difficult, or just doesn't happen. Has anyone else had this? Any tips? I've heard about PT-141, but that seems more for boosting libido, which isn't my problem.

I'm pretty sure it's not emotional; if anything, my mood's been better since starting the medication. As for diet, I'm aiming for a 2-3 pound loss per week, and I feel like I'm eating enough to maintain energy levels and mental clarity. I was losing 1-2lbs a week before, eating more, and didn't have this problem.

Could it be a mild form of anhedonia? Are you finding less pleasure in other things you usually enjoy?

Maybe? I haven't *noticed* any other changes, but it's possible I'm just not as excited about things as I used to be, and it's more obvious in this area.

Compared to the alternative (continued weight gain and the health issues that come with it), this is a minor inconvenience. There was a time in my life when I might have considered this a positive development! I like the idea about anhedonia. Maybe my mood is just less variable now. Hopefully, it'll resolve itself. Thanks for the input.

GLP-1s mess with dopamine in the brain, which definitely impacts sex. I tried an antidepressant (escitalopram) once that killed my cravings and appetite, but it also made me feel like a zombie and gave me anorgasmia. I stopped it after a few months, and then later I started on tirzepatide. The way it suppresses my appetite is kinda similar, but not as strong an effect on sex as the antidepressant gave me. SSRIs are known for causing orgasm issues.

This is what I'm worried about. I sometimes have that problem, but it seems to be when my estrogen levels are higher. Sometimes I'm good with a quick session, but other times it can last a long time, and still not happen.

I'm still not 100% sure what's causing it, but I've seen some improvement over time. It went from being a problem almost every time to being a problem only sometimes. Fingers crossed it keeps getting better!

My partner gets extra frisky a day or two before injection day when the levels are at their lowest. Thankfully, we're both on this journey, so we can work something out.

I haven't had great luck with GLP-1 meds. They curve appetite, but the stomach issues were too much. My wife is on Retatrutide and doing great. I want to get rid of some belly fat, so I'm thinking about giving it a shot. Has anyone else tried it?

What dose of Reta is your wife on? I'm considering it myself. I'm trying to lean out a little and have heard good things about how it works with TRT. I'm pushing 60.

She started at a low dose - 1mg. Then after a week, she increased it to 2mg. The only side effect she had was feeling a little tired at first. She's lost a lot of weight, and all her clothes are too big!
