Still hungry on the starter dose :(

Kaiser in SoCal is one of the few plans where the same medication can land at $637 for the starter dose and then fully covered at 1mg - depends heavily on how the indication is coded in the formulary.

The lowest Wegovy dose taking longer to show results is normal - most people don't notice clear appetite suppression until week 4-6 at 0.25mg, and some don't until the 0.5mg step. A month in at the starter dose is still early. The absence of dramatic first-injection effects doesn't predict how you'll respond at higher doses.

Adjusting frequency rather than just dose is a useful tool - some people find the same weekly total delivered in smaller more frequent injections hits hunger and food noise more consistently than a single larger shot. The tradeoff is needing a vial-based approach rather than autoinjector pens.

the restart-after-illness pattern is genuinely rough - the body readapts its baseline during the break and when the dose comes back the system responds like it's new. the way to handle a forced skip from illness is the same as a planned break: come back lower than where you left off and work back up over a few weeks rather than picking up at the same dose
