Stomach skin woes after Ozempic :(

So, I've managed to shed about 45 pounds, which is great, but now I'm dealing with this weird wrinkling thing on my stomach, especially when I flex. It's like my skin doesn't know what to do with itself.

I've been hitting the gym pretty consistently for over a year, hoping to build up the muscles underneath, but it hasn't really helped the skin appearance. I've also been slathering on every cream and trying light therapy, with zero improvement. Anyone else experience this or have any advice?

Just a friendly reminder about our community guidelines: Let's keep the discussion focused on approved medications and avoid any talk of sourcing or selling. Thanks!

Building muscle and giving it time are probably the best things you can do right now. If you are unhappy after a year, you might consider consulting a plastic surgeon.

Sadly, a tummy tuck is probably the only thing that's really going to make a significant difference (skin removal). I'm saying this from personal experience. I've been trying creams, muscle building, light therapy, and even those radio frequency treatments for YEARS. Nothing has worked. I talked to surgeons, did online research, tried every hack. I've finally resigned myself to the fact that surgery is the only way to fix this in any real way.

It's frustrating, because after all the hard work, there's a new insecurity. The cosmetic industry is built on this. They sell us false hope. Just remember that. I hope this helps you see you're gorgeous as you are. I look at your picture makes me feel better about my own tummy. It is a reminder of how far we come. I'm going to keep trying to be cool with myself. I'm still considering a tummy tuck, but I'm worried about the cost.

I don't wish to dismiss your feelings, but I also have similar wrinkly skin, and I really don't think it's a big deal. It'll probably improve on its own over time. Either way, it's fine!

From everything I've been researching, I think this is tummy tuck territory - surgery isn't always for removing huge amounts of skin. After losing about 65 pounds, my stomach looks similar. I'm generally okay with it, but I'm weighing my options.

It does improve over time as you maintain your weight. The older you are, the longer it'll take to improve. It might not become perfect, but it'll likely get better.

Since you mentioned creams, have you tried retinol? It helps skin turnover and build collagen. Use it at night because sunlight makes it less effective.

Congrats on your success! To add to my earlier advice, also make sure you're getting enough protein in your diet. That can help with skin elasticity too.

I've noticed what happens under my clothes, stays under my clothes. That really gives me peace of mind. Don't let society tell you something's wrong with your body! Rock it!

I'm trying to embrace my body changes too. All my saggy bits are getting me down but my husband is supportive so i'm learning to love myself. Good luck to you too!

Thanks everyone for the support! It helps a lot to know I'm not alone in this. I'm going to try some of the suggestions and also work on accepting my body as it is.
