Struggling for every. single. pound. Anyone else?

Just seeing if anyone else had a big initial loss (water, bloating, etc) and then it slowed to a crazy crawl... I’m four months in, still at 0.5mg. My doctor won’t up my dosage, but I'm good with that for now.

Plus, I'm trying to build muscle, and it's working, so I'm hoping the muscle gains even out and the scale starts trending down again. 😅

Me! 🙋🏽‍♀️ Started late 2024, down 22lbs. I exercise a lot, try to eat mindfully, etc., and the scale BARELY moves. So frustrating.
I keep telling myself slow and steady wins the race, but the food cravings are still there.

I don't think that's necessarily BAD progress, though? It averages to about 1.3 lbs/week on a low dose.

I'm seven weeks in, losing about 0.9-1 lb each week. I need to lose around 75 lbs total. It would be a 130lb reduction from my highest weight (been working on this before starting sema).

Sure, faster is nice, but that stresses the body. About 1 lb a week is considered healthy. Keep going! Consistency!

I'm right there with you.

I'm losing maybe 0.5 lb weekly, for a total of 8 pounds in four months. I'm on 1.0 mg of sema, workout a lot, and eat pretty healthy with tons of protein. I know people who started after me who are almost at their goal weight.

So frustrating.

I'm with you! Started at 190 last year, down to 150 now. Goal is 135. It's taking a while but it's worth it!!!

1-2 lbs/week is good! Muscle weighs more than fat. Losing more than 2lbs/week is hard on your body. The first month you drop weight because your stomach has less food and inflammation goes down.

My body holds a weight for months. Down 30lbs in two years. I eat what I like, but less. After 3-4 months at a weight, my body drops a few pounds. It's better than losing 30lbs in 2 months and having saggy skin. And I started at a lower weight and I’m a woman. People with more to lose drop a lot, and men lose faster.

How tall are you? Any loss is good! Calorie tracking might help. I'm at .5mg, same calories until no loss, then decrease. I hate it but it helps me get enough protein, fiber, and vitamins.

👋🏾 8 months, 35 lbs. 3 week break and I've lost 1 more pound, so I'm happy. But... My bestie (also on it) lost 50 lbs. in 4 months!

Almost a year, 42 pounds lost! It's 42 pounds less than last year, but seeing others lose faster is tough.

I've been wondering about that, too! Heartxx mentioned plateaus. I've read some people think they're more insulin resistant if they don't see results immediately. It's interesting to consider.

My husband and I are both using it, and he's on the standard titration, but I'm microdosing due to med sensitivity. We lose weight at a similar rate.

Switch to tirzepatide! Semaglutide wasn't doing it for me.

That's an option too, if you can get your doctor to switch you. There are also older meds that can be combined with sema if you're really stuck, but that's something to discuss with a physician.
