Sweet cravings on tirzepatide? Anyone else?

Is it just me? I've been taking tirzepatide for maybe 2 months, started at 2.5 mg and now I'm at 3.5 mg weekly. I keep hearing it's supposed to reduce sweet cravings, but it's kinda doing the opposite for me. Sometimes sugary stuff is the ONLY thing that sounds good. I usually resist, but it's weird. Hoping this passes.

Haven't reached max tirz dose yet, but in past weight loss journeys, a sweet tooth usually meant I needed more protein. No idea why, but a chocolate protein shake often did the trick. Maybe try that?

Try this: tell yourself you can have all the sweets you desire AFTER you've consumed at least 150g of protein that day.

I'm only on tirzepatide. I've always enjoyed sweets, and that hasn't changed, but now a single bite often satisfies me. I also notice the cravings more when I haven't eaten enough, either fasting or just not feeling hungry due to the medication. The 'healthy' sweet options aren't doing it for me anymore. Protein shakes or bars just don't appeal to me at all.

I did my first shot yesterday, wondering what to expect with food noise. It seems a little better today than yesterday but not sure if it’s placebo or what.
It's different for everyone, but for me, the biggest thing was just not CONSTANTLY thinking about food. Like, I could actually focus on other stuff, you know?

You need to be at least on 5 mg to even notice the effects!
I'd agree with that. The lower doses are mostly for getting your body used to the med. The real therapeutic effects kick in at 5mg and higher.

Instead of reduced cravings all my food just seems gross and unappealing. Nothing sounds good. Does this happen to others? Hope it's not permanent since that part hasn't been fun.

if you had coverage for mounjaro, insurance might just not cover zepbound. you'd need to ask your provider to switch the script to the right name. mounjaro savings card can cut $150 off too.

skipped once with my first v2, but i was being sloppy with technique. tested all my pens with water since then—v2s, v1, savio. they all work, but v1 and savio felt smoother. loading cag into the savio next.

Sweet cravings shifting to candy on tirz is the GIP receptor component redirecting the reward drive rather than eliminating it. The upside is that small candy items hit the craving with less caloric load than the cakes and ice cream they're replacing.
