Switching from Sema to Reta - Experiences?

Hey everyone! 👋

New to the forum. Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 40-year-old woman living in Denmark, and I've been using GLP-1 meds for about 4 years now. Semaglutide (Ozempic/WeGovy) helped me shed around 65 pounds, which was a game-changer for me.

I recently transitioned to Retatrutide and am currently at 1.5 mg every three days, in my fourth week. I haven't noticed much of a difference compared to when I first started semaglutide. I'm wondering if I should stick with this dose a bit longer or consider increasing it.

I'd love to hear from others who've switched from Ozempic/Wegovy to Retatrutide:

* How long did it take before you felt the effects?
* Did you need to increase your dose to see a noticeable difference?

I look forward to learning from your experiences and sharing my own as I continue this journey.

Thanks in advance!

My partner found that a mid-week dose of semaglutide helped until the retatrutide dose was high enough to work. Now they're doing 2mg twice a week and seeing pretty good results.

Hi! Another Dane here. 🙂
Since you've used a GLP-1 before, you might need higher doses before seeing effects. I'm combining tirzepatide and retatrutide and lowering tirzepatide while increasing retatrutide.

I stalled at 10 mg of tirzepatide and had unbearable side effects, so I switched. I'm in week 2 at 3 mg, and my weight is finally decreasing again. But everyone is different. I read that some people need to go as high as 6-8 mg weekly when switching from another GLP-1.

I have taken both Tirzepatide and Semaglutide. I didn't notice significant effects from Retatrutide until I reached 6mg, then I experienced good weight loss at 8-10mg.

I'm in the same boat KelsKetoKlub! I was doing great on sema, lost like 50lbs, but I've gained about 8 back and can't seem to budge it. Thinking about switching to tirzepatide. Anyone know a good place to learn about switching and dosing?

Before switching, have you looked at your calorie intake? Sometimes, as you lose weight, you need to lower your calories even further. It's a bummer, but true! Also, are you getting enough protein?

Good points. Also, are you still feeling the appetite suppression from the semaglutide? Is food noise creeping back in? And what about exercise? Are you weight training?

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I think I will stick with my plan for now and titrate up to a higher dose. Maybe my body just needs more time to adjust. I will also pay more attention to my calorie intake and protein goals. 👍

Just chiming in - if you're working out super hard and still not losing, maybe try easing up a bit? Intense workouts can cause inflammation that actually hinders weight loss for some people.Gentler stuff like walking, swimming, or yoga might be worth a shot.
