Switching from Tirz to Reta?

I ordered Reta but haven’t started yet. I heard it's good for visceral fat which I need! Big exam coming up so I didn't want to try anything new until after. I'll keep you posted. I saw some people had trouble quieting the food noise, but once they dialed in the dose it was smooth sailing. A few said it gave them bad fatigue.

Same here! I just added .5mg of Reta and will try stacking every other dose, and lower my Tirz dose. I already lost like half a pound so it seems to be helping!

Interesting. I saw a post on another forum about Tirzepatide vs Semaglutide. Apparently, Tirz acts on both GIP and GLP-1 receptors, while semaglutide only hits the GLP-1 receptors. That difference might be why some people respond differently or get different benefits from each. Makes you wonder if it's worth trying both to see what works best for your body.

That's a good point, FiberTracker. There's a lot of information out there about these drugs, but it's hard to know what's accurate and applies to you personally. I'm also trying to make sure I get enough protein and keep up my workouts to maximize the benefits. Someone I know lost around 25 pounds in about 3 months on 5mg of Tirz. That's my goal!

I hear that! Visceral fat is what I'm trying to target now, after losing a bunch of weight. I was looking at a before/after pic from someone who went from 275 to 190. Dude looked great, but more importantly said he fixed his sleep apnea and quit smoking while he was at it. That's what getting healthy is all about!

Was thinking about one of those clothing boxes where you get 12 pieces and can mix like 30 outfits for $150 but I'm gonna wait til I'm mostly done before buying new stuff. Don't know what size I'll be so no point. Gonna box it all up and donate it.

For what it's worth, I had IBS-D background for years and Tirz wiped it overnight (the delayed emptying explanation makes sense to me). When I switched to Reta the gut quiet stayed but felt different - less of a brake and more general appetite shutdown. The bathroom rhythm stayed normal but the texture-of-fullness was milder. If your GI stuff was specifically the emptying angle, Reta may be a step down on that piece.

A clean switch rather than combination is usually recommended at plateau - adding Reta to stalled Tirz adds receptor coverage but also adds cost and management complexity. Starting Reta at a low dose (2-4mg) after a brief Tirz washout is the standard protocol. Muscle protection applies regardless: 1g/lb protein and resistance training matter more the faster the loss rate.

The transition window from tirz to reta is where most people underestimate the starting dose - going in too low means several weeks before any signal on weight while the system adjusts.

This community has really built up solid experience on that transition. The Tirz-to-Reta switch when you've plateaued is a common scenario and the threads cover it well. Main thing to research is the glucagon receptor component Reta adds - the cardiac and metabolic profile is different enough from tirz that it warrants some reading before switching.
