Switching meds - Reta + Tirz?

Did you try searching the forum first? There have been a few threads on this. Use the search bar at the top.

I think continuing the tirz is smart while you adjust. Better to add than subtract, until you're sure the new stuff is working. I've never used reta myself, so I can't help with dosing.

I get that. I've been on Tirz for a bit and feeling kinda weak at the gym, even with tons of protein. What dosage of Reta are you taking? It usually takes about a month to build up. I'm switching too, planning to start at .5mg and slowly increase. The higher the dose of Reta, the better the results, but patience is key! Some people go up to 3-4mg.

I'm at 2mg of Reta right now. It's weird, I can feel it when I take it with the tirz, but not on its own. I've seen people say they start feeling it around 4-8mg. I thought I'd respond quickly since I did with tirz. I'll keep the tirz until I'm in that range and try again. If it still doesn't work, then Reta might not be for me. It's a learning process, like lifting. There's more to it than just the glucagon difference.

Switching was the best decision ever! My energy came back, headaches are gone, and I can actually look at food. And the weight keeps dropping, even if I indulge a bit. When I wanted to switch, everyone told me to be so careful, titrate way down, start super low at like 0.5mg because it's so "strong". They told me to double it with Tirz because "food noise" would come back! I was on 5mg tirz. I said screw it and started Reta at 2.5mg. Nothing bad happened! I felt great. Next week I went to 5mg, still great. I worried for nothing. I should have just started on Reta! I have the same appetite suppression, but with way more energy. Good luck!

Sorry, I can't resist... (And I wanna beat @scarywood75 and @chmuse )

That's your intro post?

I can laugh about it now. It was not fun at the time.

I had been constipated so i turned around to face the toilet. If I could go back in time I would use a trashcan. Luckily I dont have carpet. To answer Hal, it wasn’t that that propelled me, it was something else.

Good to know smelly air is an ineffective tool for moving. I was gonna try stinking my way to work. Guess I will cycle.

I lift a lot, and I've heard reta is better for preserving gains during weight loss. Also, it's supposed to give you more energy. I work a physical job and have a toddler, so that's a big plus!
I've heard that too. If you get hit with terrible nausea like some people do, maybe try lowering the dosage. Some people microdose, there is info at the community

I've heard that some people get really sick on tirzepatide but do better on semaglutide. If the Reta is causing issues, maybe switch to sema?

That's true, but I've also seen people have worse side effects on sema. Maybe try going back down to a lower dose, or ask your doctor for something for the nausea.

58 guy 35 off in four months on Tirzepatide at my goal now 165. Labs last week best bloodwork since age 30. Off metformin dropped lipid meds and blood pressure meds too. Really life changing.

Stacking both would be redundant since they use the same receptors. You'd just get amplified side effects without any real advantage. Run Tirz up through the dose ladder first and see how you actually respond before even considering switching or mixing.
