Switching off Tirz to Reta, any advice?

I've used a tirz formulation for approximately a quarter of a year.

I was injecting 10mg weekly for the last couple of times. Now I'm going to try a switch from that tirz formulation to a reta formulation.

Does anyone have tips on how to switch? I'm thinking of doing it kind of aggressively. What dose of RETA to start with? Maybe reduce the tirz to 5mg and then add some RETA?

I have two tirz doses left. I'd rather not get more. I'd like to be completely off the tirz after that.

Thanks!
Tom

Most people wait a bit longer before switching meds. Are you dealing with rough side effects? I think you can go up to 15mg of tirz, so you still had room to increase the dose.

I'm going with sema first because it's more affordable. If I stop losing weight, I'll move to tirz later.

I know some folks use both sema and tirz together, or tirz and reta.

What's your reason for switching so soon?

If you want to keep things smooth, you should switch to about the same dose, like 7.5 of tirz is close to 8 of reta, if you were on 1mg of sema. When you switch, go down one step to see if the new stuff even works. Some people say go back to the start, but that just wastes time getting back to where you were. I had a 5mg tirz that didn't do anything after I was on 2.4 of sema; I had to get up to 10mg of tirz. How you react to the next glp1 is different for everyone, so if you want to be safe and not waste anything, go low and move up until you feel it. Hope this helps.

Just saw someone say they switched from Zepbound to Mounjaro after five months because of an insurance issue. Apparently, their doctor messed up the prior authorization. It's wild how much money can be wasted because of simple mistakes! Make sure your paperwork is right, FiberLife216!

Good point. Thanks! I'm using a cash-pay clinic, so no insurance issues to worry about, thankfully. Just trying to dial in the best formulation for my body. I am doing this for wellness purposes!

I ran into a guy on Reddit who lost around 44 pounds of PURE fat in about 10 months. He started with one med, moved to another for 8 months, and then went back to the first one, but a different version of it. He said he feels amazing and has more muscle now. So switching around can definitely work!
