Tesa/Reta - weird taste changes?

Anyone else had their taste buds go haywire on Tesa or Reta? I started them both this week (Reta on Saturday, Tesa on Sunday). I like grilled chicken and a cucumber salad for a super easy protein meal. It's one of my favorites to keep me from ordering takeout. But yesterday it tasted off. And today I couldn't even swallow it. It's weird because each ingredient tasted okay, so it wasn't like something was spoiled. But the combo was just nasty. I gave it away and made eggs. Now I'm wondering if it's the Reta. Anyone had a similar issue?

I haven't had that happen. I don't crave the same things, and I'm not tempted by my usual junk food triggers.

This is so true, and it's frustrating. I didn't have the aversion to protein foods when I only used tirz, but now that I'm taking Reta with it, I definitely don't want protein. I had to force down a shake because all I want is carbs.

I've been on Tesa and Reta for the last month. I went to a farmer's market last weekend, and a vendor was giving out cookie samples. I tried their "most popular" chocolate cookie, and it tasted like dry, chalky chocolate.

I still crave some of my usual foods, but they definitely don't taste as good. They're still okay, but not the same. Makes me wonder if it's the taste itself or if my brain isn't giving me those "this is delicious" vibes as much anymore. I'm not craving protein or carbs especially, but carbs are usually my go to.

Huh, interesting about the taste bud changes. I've been reading a bit about peptides for muscle recovery since starting Reta. Anyone have experience with Ipamorelin or Semorelin? I'm already on TRT and dialed in, but looking for that extra edge.

I tried Ipamorelin a while back hoping for better recovery. Honestly, didn't feel a thing. Labs showed zero change in IGF-1 levels too. Total waste of money for me.

Be careful with chasing that 'extra edge'. I've seen some people mention blood pressure issues with Ipamorelin. Always monitor your BP when introducing new substances.

That's strange, even after being off for a full month my glucose has just kept improving. The surgery stress could've done it, or maybe it was causing a false reading. But honestly with those fasting numbers, your current dose might actually be on the high side.

never thrown up in 2+ years. eat whatever i want, just less of it. sugar, carbs, fat, gluten, whatever. everyone reacts different. my side's brutal constipation.

Fairlife nutrition shakes from Costco, 30g protein a day in a small amount of liquid. Swapped all my snacks for protein versions—Quest chips, their donuts, beef jerky. For actual meals I just eat whatever sounds good and however much fits. Works for me.

gets me too—the temptation is real. what i think about is: 10 mins of taste pleasure versus probably feeling like trash after, versus staying on track and actually seeing progress and feeling good about myself. the math doesn't add up for junk food.

i'm not saying this is everyone, but 4 years on this and 130lbs gone i MISS EATING. used food for everything—bored, sad, happy, lonely. now those feelings hit but eating makes me ill, makes me sad. is your pit anything like mine?

4mg is the first dose where i'm feeling too much appetite suppression, skin sensitivity popping up, and sleep's getting weird. gonna stick here for a while and let things settle.

Breaks don't help, it's dosed weekly for a reason to build up. If you have metabolic stuff like perimenopause, body needs to fix that hormone first before releasing weight. Are you hydrating, eating enough protein, tracking food, hitting TDEE? Plateaus are normal. Resistance training is huge — people forget muscle gets lost.
