Almost at my goal! Luckily, the side effects have been minimal for me. Semaglutide has revolutionized my health journey. It's tough on my wallet, but after a decade of unsuccessful weight loss attempts, it's the only thing that's worked.
I'm active and eat well, but since my second child at 32, I've tried everything. Swimming, cycling, charity runs, Pilates, rowing, yoga, spin, running, group fitness, four different gyms, a couple of personal trainers, a nutritionist, thyroid checks, Paleo, Keto, Atkins, dairy-free, Whole30, clean eating, CICO, no booze, intermittent fasting... the list goes on.
I even took on a second job cleaning houses for extra activity. I stopped taking birth control, hoping it would help. My doc wouldn't order more tests. My nutritionist tracked my body fat and muscle, and even when I followed her advice, I'd gain fat or stay the same.
I became depressed and anxious, and my social life disappeared. It's been awful. As someone who loves healthy food and exercise, it's infuriating to have my body refuse to change. Even a little. I wanted to get to 145lbs, which is still "overweight" for my height!
My partner of 11 years proposed last December, and our wedding is in May. I'm not as worried about how I'll look on that day.
You can see how uncomfortable I was in the before picture. I usually avoid photos, but I was pressured into that one. I don't usually wear shorts or tanks, but we were in Florida.
