Things I can't do anymore...

Been on Mounjaro for a year and a half now, and it's wild how much has changed. Here's a list of 10 things I simply can't do anymore:

1. Eat just because I'm in a mood.
2. Keep eating past the point of fullness.
3. Down two dozen donut holes for breakfast. (Yeah, I used to do that...)
4. Shop exclusively at plus-size stores.
5. Finish an entire bottle of wine solo.
6. Strategically position myself behind others in group photos.
7. Hold onto clothes that are way too small (or big!).
8. Get annoyed when I forget something upstairs.
9. Maintain any semblance of a clothing budget.
10. Pop a handful of pain relievers for back issues.

Thanks to Mounjaro for all the changes!

For those curious: Male, 49, 5'5", SW:216 CW: 125, Starting A1C: 7.0 Current: 4.6

Same here, 14 months, Female, highest weight 310, starting 260, current 146... wardrobe budget? What's that?! Skinny and broke! Congrats!

I love this post! Not hiding in pictures... that hit hard. I've been doing that forever. No more!

I can add one: Dealing with people's comments about my size. Used to be about what I weighed, now it's about losing the weight. I've gotten really sassy.

I totally get the clothing budget thing! I'm only down around 20 lbs from my highest (5mg shot #5), and I'm already dreading replacing stuff, knowing that 1) I basically only bought work clothes for a decade and 2) Clothes are fitting better, looser, or just don't fit anymore because they're too big...

So, here's my plan! Thrift stores will be my friend for the size-down phase. I'll donate the stuff that's too big and swap it for things that fit. I'm also setting aside $10 a week to save for when I reach my ideal weight/size. If that takes a year or two, I'll have between $500 and $1000 to revamp my wardrobe.

I'll then get my brother to assist me shopping and buy him an outfit as thanks for being my shopping buddy (I dislike spending hours looking at clothing).

I understand what scale-dont-lie is saying, that "quieting" of obsessive food thoughts is something that many people on these meds have experienced. It's like a mental fog lifting. Before, I'd be constantly planning my next meal, even while eating. Now, I barely think about food until I'm actually hungry.

Found this great app for tracking meds and vitals - Pillo by Pillo Health. Love that you can add custom meds not in their database, set your own schedule, injections or pills, and it's totally free. No account needed either.
