Thinner needles for IM shots?

Are you planning to reconstitute with them? I've seen 25g 1.5" and 30g 1" options without needing a medical supply store.

They get pretty bendy, though! Not sure how well that would work for intramuscular.

I wouldn't use anything that thin if it's also long. Too much bendy-ness.

I'm using 31g 5/16" for all my stuff. Reconstituting, injecting. Sometimes the vial stopper is stubborn, but if it bends, I just toss it and grab a new one.

I use 25g x 1” needles for IM injections of oils and never have problems. You wouldn’t want a thinner needle like a 31g; it would be more likely to bend. Go thicker for less bending, like 23g or 21g.

Thanks everyone. I'm just being a chicken when I do the IM injection, and it ends up hurting more because I hesitate. I was hoping a smaller gauge than 25g would sting less. I guess I just need to commit and stop being a scaredy cat.

I recommend these Thin Wall needles. They go in super smooth. The best I've used since I started injecting oils. I draw with a 21g and switch to these 25's for the actual injection.

27g and 30g ARE smaller than 25g. Also, 1/2" is often long enough to reach the muscle in your shoulder if you're relatively lean.

Be careful what you wish for! I used 1” 30g needles for something once, and I had to press SO hard to get it through the tiny syringe. The shot itself was painless, but my thumbs were killing me afterward!

I'm starting sema next week. Any suggestions on when to take the shot? I've heard different things about when it's most effective and when side effects might hit the hardest.

I do mine Friday mornings before work. Seems to help with weekend cravings. Might be worth trying!

Some folks suggest injecting before bed to sleep through any initial nausea. Others recommend a day when you have some flexibility in case of side effects. It's very individual!
