OMG, Mounjaro has been unreal for me, and it's only been like, 14 weeks:

Weight: I've dropped 20 pounds after being stuck on a super strict keto diet for YEARS. Like, no fruit, no bread, no fun. Everyone else in my fam is skinny and I'm cursed with a slow burn. This stuff actually jumpstarted my metabolism.

Bloodwork: I'm almost 60, but my blood sugar, liver scores, and cholesterol look like someone in their 20s.

Blood pressure/heart rate: BP was sky high, now it's normal for my age group. My resting heart rate's significantly lower.

Mental health: Been on anti-anxiety meds forever and was able to cut back on Zoloft.

Fitness: I walk and swim daily now. Can do squats, climb stairs, lift weights and have the stamina to do more stuff.

Alcohol: Used to use alcohol for my back pain, now I barely crave it.

Pain: I've had fibro pain for 3 decades and I feel amazing now.

Gut health: I had constant diarrhea, probably from the fibro, and it's mostly better now.

Obviously, this all might be just me, but I had to share. I'm on 5mg now and I wanna stay here as long as I can. It took me FOREVER to get here, so I don't want a fast reverse. I'm also lucky enough to be able to pay for it. If the government would actually subsidize GLP meds, it would save society so much money in the long run, ya know?

Yup. I lost 22 lbs in two months. Started at 280 lbs. Cut back alcohol by, like, three-quarters. I’m a 58 year old man, and thinking I might see a certain comet a second time. Feeling pretty good about living, now. Got long life genes on my side, so slimming down and getting my drinking under control puts me in a good position.

Thanks for a great post. I agree!
I also saw some research today looking at cancer and GLPs and it seemed quite positive. It'll have downsides -- but I'm thinking these drug companies are on the right track.
All the best!

Life altering—that's exactly what I said to my doctor. I've lost 42 lbs, and I can keep up with my workout routine, I don't crave sugar or salty snacks, my A1C took a nosedive downwards and my cholesterol dropped from 225 to 180. I could never keep any of this up before because of my thyroid issues, and also insulin resistance that I probably had without knowing it. Now I can make lasting changes in my life that I just couldn't do consistently before. It's amazing!

Insurance companies (let's be real) can be penny wise, pound foolish.

The fact they won't prescribe this for PRE-DIABETES as prevention when all else has failed is ridiculous.

Good for you!!! What an amazing thing to hear!! Keep it up 👍🏼
I also have fibromyalgia and have struggled with chronic pain for 3 decades. As well as bad scoliosis and hip pain!! I’ve lost almost 50 pounds on MJ, I was really hoping my pains would stop but sadly I’m worse than ever!!
It’s awesome that you’re getting so many benefits from the medication, not just the weight loss. Wishing you all the best in continuing your journey !

Congratulations!! Same here!! Plus drastically improved kidney function. It's a life-saving miracle drug. It’s a pity that we can't get it covered by insurance when it helps with so many medical problems

You sound like you're telling my story! I started Mounjaro for type 2 and losing weight and everything else has been a wonderful, amazing bonus!! My doctor even told me early on that "one of the side effects will be weight loss"

Aw, thanks! Sorry to hear your pain hasn't improved. That sucks. I'm sure everyone's different, though. What dose are you on?

I'm on the highest dose now. Maybe I need to look into other pain management options, even though I was really hoping this drug would be the answer.

I've been on Ozempic since November, and by eating less and exercising, I've dropped about 45 pounds. I started at 246 and now I'm 200! My goal is 180!

I feel amazing and my bloodwork is all perfect!
