Tirz and sleepless nights?

Is anyone else having trouble sleeping on Tirz? I'm only getting like 4-5 hours of shut-eye and I don't even feel tired. Could be stress, could be the meds, idk.

Been on Tirz for over a year, even at high doses, and I still get 8 hours of sleep. Maybe even nine sometimes.

Tirz messed up my sleep big time. I already have insomnia, but I was wide awake until almost 6 AM the other day so I took a Benadryl...

Saw my doc, got some meds that seem to help. I'll be on them till I reach my goal weight, hopefully the insomnia will improve by then

I didn't sleep great before Tirzepatide, so it's hard to say if it made it worse, but the lower calorie intake definitely makes it more noticeable. My doc prescribed something mild to help, but I found something else that works just as well!

Funny you mention it... sitting here at 4 AM, haven't slept a wink. I get one good night a week, maybe. The rest of the time, it's just a few hours, and every week and a half or so, I don't sleep at all. I'm retired, so it's not a huge deal, but I had to tell my husband nothing's wrong, it's just the meds. But is it? I see others saying the same thing, so maybe it is. Hopefully, it will get better as I get used to it (just switched from Sema a few weeks ago).

I should add that I take prescription sleep meds. Whatever this is doing is even beating those.

This is kind of related, but I have sleep apnea and check my CPAP data daily. Ever since I started Tirz, the machine's detection of "central apnea" events has increased a lot. It's been high for the past year. These machines can't really detect central apnea (brain telling you not to breathe instead of airway obstruction), but it seems like Tirz might be relaxing my respiratory system somehow and making the time before I take the next breath longer.

My AHI numbers are still okay, but I think the CPAP is less effective than when I started. Maybe it's unrelated though.

I'm exhausted all the time too. I just feel like I'm running on fumes all day, even if I get enough sleep. Maybe its a side effect of the meds? I wake up so, so tired.

I've been having crazy dreams since I started on Tirz. Last night I dreamt I was at an all-you-can-eat buffet, and I loaded up on garlic bread! I've lost like 200 pounds, but I'm still having these weird food cravings in my sleep. It's like my subconscious is going wild.

I've had some vivid dreams too, since starting sema. I'm not sure if it's the meds or just sleeping better now that my sleep issues are better controlled.

Maybe get some bloodwork done and see if you're low on anything? Common stuff like iron, B12, and Vit D can really mess with your energy levels.

hard to say if fatigue's from weight loss without knowing how much you dropped. depending on age and sex maybe check iron. with tirz you're less likely diabetes but a multivitamin's worth it if your diet's not locked.

eating regular and nutritious meals helps. sleep is extra important on this med. can't handle alcohol at all, even a little. adding a workout routine helps a ton with mental health, even when it's hard at first. if none of this brings relief, talk to your doctor about antidepressants.
