Tirz arrived! When do I pin?

Got my initial tirz order. Paid a premium to get it fast from a domestic source for a trial run.

Two questions for the experienced folks: Did you stick to the standard titration or hold dosages until they stopped working? I'm thinking 2.5mg to start, holding until it loses effectiveness before upping to 5mg. Advice appreciated!

Second, when's the best time to start? I have tomorrow off, then work. Should I start tomorrow, hoping for no bad side effects at work? Or wait for next weekend? I want to get ahead of the holiday gorging, but don't want to feel awful at work.

Any insights or tips are welcome!

I actually started around this time last year. I was thinking the same thing about getting ahead of all the holiday parties. Turns out it was a great idea. I'm down about 85 pounds since then.

I followed the standard protocol, increasing by 2.5mg every month if sides were tolerable. I didn't have much nausea, so it was easy to increase. Constipation was my main issue, which isn't as bad as nausea.

Some people like to go slow, but research indicates the higher doses are more effective. I stayed on 10mg for a while. Do what feels right, but don't increase if you're feeling terrible.

You won't know how you'll react until you start. And you don't have to start at 2.5mg. Some people start with smaller doses to ease in.

Wow, congrats on the weight loss PulseBTW445! Thanks for the advice. I think I will start tomorrow. Avoiding holiday weight gain sounds great. Constipation worries me though. What helped you manage it?

I've only been on this for about a month, and I've lost around 15 pounds. I began with 1.5mg, and I'm glad I did, because my first week was rough. I was also switching from a high-carb diet to keto, so that may have contributed. I stayed at that dose for 2 weeks, then upped it to 2mg because 1) food noise was creeping back in, and 2) I knew my luteal phase was coming. I always get extra cravings then.

Even the small dose increase made me nervous because of the nausea. I experience the worst sides about 24-36 hours after pinning, then it fades. So, I dose Thursday mornings, so I have Friday and Saturday off to deal with the nausea.

I'm trying to stick to the lowest dose possible. I actually dropped back down to 1.8mg just to see if I could still lose at a lower dose. If not, I'll just do an extra shot sooner to get back on track.

GLP-1s peak in concentration after about 24 hours, so plan accordingly. You won't know how you react until you take it, so do it when you can be most comfortable.

Thanks! I'm happy with my progress. I still have about 25-30 pounds to lose, but I'm confident I'll get there.

For constipation, my doctor recommended a daily stool softener. It's been a lifesaver. My nutritionist wants me off it, which is a work in progress. Some people recommend magnesium products, but I haven't tried those.

Drink lots of water, get plenty of protein, and stay positive!

I dropped 70 pounds in about 8 months while never exceeding 5mg of tirz weekly.

I still do zone 2 cardio (25-30 mins) fasted, 5 days a week, and lift weights hard for an hour, 4 days a week, all while maintaining a 1000-calorie deficit. TRT and weight training helped preserve muscle. I did this at 50.

My weight's stable now. I'm off tirz, eating at maintenance. I'll add it back if my weight creeps up or for a planned cut.

I'm holding steady at 14-15% body fat.

Tracking everything helps me stay on track. I run my health like a business.

Good luck taking control of your health!

That's amazing A1C_Warrior! Congrats! I hope I can be half as successful. The hardest part for me is finding the energy to work out. I know I just need to make myself do it. I'll start this weekend.

They say, "start low, go slow." Stay at a dose if it's effective.

I started at 0.125mg for a week because I feared sides. Yes, I fell for the stories. ;-)

I titrated up every 5-6 weeks when it lost effect, coming from sema before. No serious sides, but anhedonia at 10-11mg.

Tirz is amazing! It's a marathon, not a sprint. Get lots of protein and do strength training!

This isn't mentioned often enough: ideally, discuss this with your doctor and follow their advice. It's safer, and they can address related medical issues and side effects.

This is especially important as you get older, have more health problems, or are severely obese. Also, healthcare costs play a role.

If you're self-managing, start with small doses, like 2.5mg. Side effects peak 2-4 months after starting, as doses increase, but usually improve over time. Delay or reduce doses if needed. The long half-life means quickly increasing doses is risky.

Peak drug levels are about 24 hours post-dose, so dose on Friday afternoon if working M-F. Increasing to 15mg is a good idea if you're significantly obese, over 40, or have cardiovascular risk factors.

I've been reading about peptides to add in with this... specifically, for boosting muscle and recovery. Anyone have experience with CJC-1295 with Ipamorelin? Heard good things. What's a good source? I keep seeing one lab mentioned, but want to get other opinions.

That's a good combo. You can get them premixed or separate. I prefer separate so I can adjust dosages.

I find it wild that people are so quick to judge meds for weight loss, but not for diabetes! Like preventing diabetes is somehow "cheating" but managing it isn't. Make it make sense!

Belly and outer thighs are the most forgiving sites early on - the subQ layer depth is more consistent there than arms, which makes the dose delivery more predictable until you find your rotation.
