Tirz boost - good idea?

I think this compounded stuff I got isn't very good. I injected on Saturday, then another 2mg yesterday (same vial) 'cause I was craving everything. It helped. So, should I increase the dosage, or is adding a couple of units 4 days later a smart move? I have a fresh vial from a different place ready when this runs out, and I hope it's stronger.

You can't mix mg and units like that. The conversion changes based on the solution. And yeah, compounded versions can be weak. It has a half-life of 7 days, so after 4 days, it's already wearing off. Half-life means it takes that long for your body to use up half of the drug. You could try cutting your dose in half and injecting every 3-4 days to keep it more steady. But tbh, it just sounds like you want more to feel something.

What are you even taking? A 2mg "boost" of semaglutide is like the highest dose of Ozempic! I don't buy the idea that drug companies make dosing schedules around people who can't remember to take a daily pill. If daily dosing was better, they'd have tested it. I think those peaks and valleys are important for how your body responds and how effective it is long-term (at least for diabetes). Out of all my meds, only my GLP is weekly. Everything else is daily or as needed. And I can handle that. GLPs are designed to release slowly, unlike some meds. Just my opinion.

The half-life for tirzepatide is about 5 days. Doesn't matter who makes it. It can vary a little between people though.

20 units still isn't enough info. What's the concentration of the vial? If it's 10mg/ml, then 20 units is 2mg, which is a pretty big "boost" if your regular dose is 2.5mg. Okay if you're at 5mg. Not so great if you're just starting.

Okay... So, if you bumped it up to 4.5mg total, I'd just stick with that until your next dose next week. Then go to 4.5 or just round it up to 5mg. I've been on Tirz for over a year and reached my goal weight a while ago. Never went over 5mg, never used a scale, and never went by how I felt.

Compounding pharmacies have different concentrations of tirzepatide. I've used two different ones, and the first had two different strengths. The second one adjusted the mg of tirz in each mL, so you always inject 50 units no matter the dosage.

Saw a suggestion to run tirzepatide - light GLP-1 and strong GIP, no GCG. Add low-dose of another with strong GLP-1, weak GIP, strong GCG and no RHR issues. Interesting combo approach.

I saw someone on Reddit say they've been on 0.5mg for a year and a half and lost almost 70 pounds.

Smart. I'm thinking about staying on a lower dose longer.

I've read about people microdosing. One person said their doctor told them to stretch out their doses to 0.25mg every couple of weeks. It helped control cravings without losing more weight than they wanted. If it works, it works!
