Tirz Compounding Curtailed Soon?

Totally expected. Next up, domestic sources will get the squeeze. Anyone who thinks they can play this game without touching stuff from overseas is kidding themselves.

Anyone got a link to that Eli Lilly legal filing against the peptide companies? I've been searching but can't find it.

I think prices will hold steady for now. Most people I know using compounded stuff are switching to sema for a bit after the 90 days are up for the 503b's. Things will get interesting when compounded sema gets the axe.

I agree. Lots of folks with insurance will just use the manufacturer's coupon and get the real deal for around $400. Still can't believe people on Reddit are doing 3mg a week!

I doubt it. There are too many sources competing and driving prices down. Once a vendor figures out the product, all they can compete on is price.

They could easily make a few small tweaks to stand out, but nobody seems to bother. Oh well, still cheap.

Also, tons of new GLP1 meds are coming soon. Reta is already the hot new thing, and its price is dropping. It won't even be out of trials until late '25 or on the market in '26. Tirz will be so last year in a couple of years.

Don't be shocked if compounding continues for months after March. If the FDA decides not to include tirzepatide on the shortage list and the lawsuit plaintiffs request an injunction, the FDA said it won't restrict compounded tirzepatide based on the shortage until the court rules. Also, there are possibly other ways around the restrictions by finding issues with how Eli Lilly provides the medication.

Saw someone on Reddit talking about switching from Ozempic to Saxenda due to supply issues. They lost about 30% of their weight in the last year! That's amazing progress. Hopefully the switch goes smoothly for them!

It is wild how many people are struggling with the shortages... I saw a post reminding folks that Mounjaro has a half-life of 5 days, so it takes about a month to completely clear your system! Important to remember if you're spacing out doses.

I feel for folks dealing with the shortages. I've been lucky so far, but it definitely makes me anxious. Keeping a close eye on things!
