Tirz plateau - switch to reta?

I've been on 8 to 8.5mg of tirz weekly and I've almost made it to my ideal weight, but I've stalled. Actually, I'm up a pound or two. I prepped vials of both tirz and reta today, and I'm unsure how to proceed. Should I finish the tirz over the next few weeks, then move to reta? Or switch to reta at my next dose? Everything I've read suggests not doing both at once, and waiting at least a week after my last tirz dose before starting reta at around 1mg.

I know many here have experience with both, and I've looked at some posts about stacking (some do it, some advise against it). I'm currently leaning towards avoiding stacking.

You're not even at the highest possible dose of tirz, why change now? This is a marathon, not a sprint...

I was thinking it might be better to switch before I got too high on the dose. I thought I saw it mentioned that rotating peptides could be good for your receptors. I was hoping to avoid going above 10mg, let alone 15mg. I'm thinking long-term as you said, and it's only been about nine months so far.

Some pizza joints still have them.

I basically have to stack reta since it's not really doing anything for me at 2mg.

I agree with your thoughts and not mixing Tirz/Reta. I think you should increase your Tirz after you're sure you've plateaued.

It's like taking meds for a headache. Do you take baby aspirin, one regular strength or two? Or if you need a drink to unwind, is it one shot of tequila or three?

See what 10mg of Tirz does for a couple weeks. That's my opinion anyway.

Exactly. Reta has made me like tirz even more. I'm going to be hoarding tirz now.

Maybe 6+ mg of reta will be great for me. But getting there is no fun.

I had some stomach issues with higher tirz doses, but I've figured out how to manage them better now. Like using kratom to prevent diarrhea and imodium for when things get bad.

Sharing my experience because I was worried about losing muscle. I've been increasing Reta while cutting back on Tirz. Every two weeks, I lower tirz by 1mg and increase Reta by 1mg. Still losing weight though.
Hope this helps.

This week, I went down from 8.5mg tirz to 7.5mg, and three days later, I took 2mg Reta. Next month, it'll be 6.5mg Tirz and 3mg Reta. We'll see how it goes.

Wait a minute. You prepped a vial of EACH before deciding? Are you rich or am I a goblin, stressing over "I don't want to waste my peps, only have like 150 of them?"

I would've said the same thing. When I was taking 7.5 mg of Tirz per week, it barely worked, and I even gained a couple of pounds. Once I went up to 10 mg, the weight loss started again, and I stayed at 10 for months.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on kratom, especially about addiction. Everything I've read makes it seem very dangerous, but I know you must have thought it through.

I'm sure that's true for some people. I'm too lazy to take anything regularly besides GLPs. My addictions are mostly digital, haha.

Another reason I like kratom is that it helps reduce my appetite a bit. It's also cheap. I got four different types, 1,000 capsules total (500 grams), for $44 shipped. The container says four capsules (2 grams) is a serving, but many people take more (like I do).

Thanks! I appreciate your perspective. It reminds me of my mom; she's not an addict. She needed opiates for almost a year, didn't like them, split the pills, and saved them, thinking they might be useful later and harder to get. She was so happy to get her knee replaced and said "I can stop taking these pills. I don't know why anyone ruins their lives over them, they just make it hard to poop and make you sleepy." I'll probably find her stash when she dies of old age.

Meanwhile, my addiction-prone dad and I are over here like 😲

You're close to your goal weight. Switching meds may be difficult. Stick with tirz and increase the dose slightly if needed.

I think I'll probably finish the current vial of tirz, which should take around three weeks, and then switch to the reta vial. I've had the reta for several months, and I want to try it out. Since I'm at a plateau, it seems like a good time.

I saw someone post in another forum about tirzepatide causing them severe nausea, like throwing up for over a week after only the second 5mg injection. They lost like 10 pounds because of it. They were wondering if semaglutide might be a better option for them. Has anyone else had that kind of experience? Maybe try lowering your dose if you have bad nausea?
