Tirz, Reta, and Joint Pain: Anyone Else?

Quick question about joint pain. I'm on 8mg of Reta right now. Thinking about adding a small dose of Tirz to see if it helps my joints.

I used Tirzepatide for about half a year and it was amazing for my autoimmune stuff. Really helped with inflammation, arthritis and joint pain. It also lowered my cortisol pretty fast and I dropped about 35lbs.

But I couldn't get it anymore from my local place, so I had to stop. That's when I started looking at other peptides.

Now, 4 months later, I tried Reta, plus a couple other things. I'm at 8mg a week of Reta now (felt like it started working this week) but not seeing any change in the joint pain and swelling. Doesn't seem to work like Tirz. I still have some food cravings. Not losing weight, but not gaining either. My main thing is getting relief from the pain and feeling better. So, is there any reason not to try a low dose of Tirz mid-week to see if it helps my autoimmune problems?

Any thoughts?

Tirz and Reta didn't do anything for my rheumatoid arthritis. What really helped was a biologic, Enbrel. It took about 3 months to notice a difference. If your joint pain is really bad, maybe look into that.

Sounds reasonable to me. People have combined them before.

Maybe the GLP part of the tirz was the key for your inflammation? GIP is also anti-inflammatory and works well with it. But maybe the glucagon part of reta isn't as useful for you, or could even be a bit bad.

Interesting info, good or bad, since I'm switching to reta from compounded tirz. One of the things I liked was the anti-inflammatory properties, since I'm basically at my goal weight. I thought the GIP was responsible, but it seems the cytokine effects are stronger for GLP1. Hope my results are good, maybe I'll just close my eyes and hope it works.

Interesting. What makes it potentially counterproductive? Do you think it could actually make things a bit worse?

I think I saw someone else say it wasn't good for autoimmune stuff, but I didn't think the source was trustworthy. Now I'm wondering if they were right. Maybe I should just go back to Tirz.

I've been trying different things for years, including biologics. I'm still on one but it's never enough without other meds like prednisone, OTC pain relievers, or sometimes prescription pain meds. It's been a long road. When I started Tirz, I didn't need anything else except the weekly shot and the biologic every two months. I want to get back to that because I'm having flares again. 🙁

AOD9604 and Cartalax help my RS's joint pain the most. But for reducing inflammation, I think tirz is the best.

It's good that you found an anti-inflammatory effect! I'm always interested in hearing about Tirz effects. I think I've seen less joint pain (on MJ for over a year, plateaued at 15mg for months), but I thought it was from losing weight. I'm looking into Reta to break the stall.

Why did you decide to switch to Reta instead of continuing with Tirz?

Based on your experience, it makes sense to switch back to tirzepatide. If it controlled your arthritis before, it's likely responsible. Autoimmune issues can change for no reason, so it could have been a coincidence. There isn't much research on GLP meds and autoimmune diseases, but it seems like there might be a benefit. I don't know any reasons why reta would be worse than tirz, but we don't fully understand these meds and the immune system. It is not a risky or expensive experiment with current prices, and if it lowers pain and the need for multiple meds, it's worth trying again. If it's just slightly less effective for weight loss and doesn't help much, no big deal, but since it worked before, try it again.

Have you thought about BPC-157 for inflammation and joint pain? I've had good results and there's research and stories to back it up. I tested my Cortisol levels (saliva) to confirm.

Another thing I've found to work is SS31/Mots-c - you can have it made here in the US. The lab I use is in Houston, TX. They provide the COA and endotoxin report.

Also look at Thymic peptides - I've used Alpha-1 and Beta-2 - if you have autoimmune issues, there are many peptides depending on what you need.

I've only ordered Reta and sema from out of the country. Everything else comes from a doctor (prescription) and local pharmacies or is custom made.

The first setup for 4 peptides was over $20K. I didn't pay all of it. The amount made was more than I could store easily, but it's guaranteed pure.

For example: Reta costs $.07/mg to make, you can buy it for $.32/mg online, get it from a compounding pharmacy (with a doctor) for $12.62/mg, or have it custom made for over $100/mg. Custom making peptides that are hard to find or not available from good sources makes sense, but weight loss is popular, so there's plenty of supply right now.

BPC-157, Mot-C and SS31 didn't help my inflammation or joint pain at all. Tirze helped a little, but not much. Reta didn't seem to do anything.

That's too bad, I'm sorry. I ride a Peloton bike multiple times a week and these peptides help a lot with recovery. My body feels young again. I can play with my kids like a babysitter.

From trying ADHD meds, I learned "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I wanted to switch to reta from tirz, but tirz works well and I don't need to change. Maybe you should switch back and see how it affects your joint pain?

Is there any benefit to stacking a GHRP with IGF-LR3?

I'm trying to understand this. I want to improve athletic performance, like in some studies where GH improved anaerobic capacity. I know combining GHRP-6 with IGF-1 probably won't give the same results, but does more IGF-1 in the blood stop the GHRP from working?

I've been looking into sermorelin/ipamorelin combo. I've been using a GHRP-2/Sermorelin combo from a well-known online clinic for about six months and it's been pretty good. My IGF-1 went from 100 to 200 and stayed there. I've lowered my body fat to around 16% from 24% and gained muscle (according to dexa scans). But, I've read that GHRP-2 can raise prolactin and cortisol. Both have gone up a bit for me. I've also read that Ipamorelin is a better GHRP than GHRP-2 because it doesn't have those side effects.
