Tirzepatide pooping problems?

When I began tirzepatide at 2.5 mg, my main issue was constipation. (sorry for the crude language) I slowly increased the dose to 5 mg per week after about a month and a half. All was well the first week. But the last two weeks, I've had diarrhea a few days after my shot. What else can I do other than lower my dose? I really appreciate how it reduces my appetite.

The constipation-then-diarrhea flip after a dose bump comes up a lot — this breakdown of GI symptoms after dose changes has people's experiences with exactly that.

Bowels can be unpredictable; sometimes things move quickly, and sometimes they don't. With peptides, it's beneficial to maintain regularity.

I had that problem on and off at the beginning. There wasn't much I could do, and food didn't seem to make a difference. I took a couple of doses of loperamide, and it cleared up. It eventually went away on its own. And a word of advice: NEVER trust a fart on tirz, haha.

I actually had the opposite problem in the beginning. I got very constipated. I found that drinking more water helped and also adding some fiber gummies each day until I found the perfect dosage. Now, I only get diarrhea if I eat something super greasy, but my stomach usually prevents me from doing that now anyway.

Someone suggested I split my dose into two smaller doses each week to keep the maximum level lower in my bloodstream. This might reduce some side effects. I'm sure this has been suggested before. I'm here to learn any tips or tricks for making this process easier!

I was completely stopped up until this week when I started 7.5mg. All of a sudden, it has cleared me right out. This happened two days after my shot and only lasted one day. I hope you stop having the runs as you adjust to your new dose; if not, imodium is a safe choice.

For now, I am staying below the level where my problems started and splitting my dose into two each week. I am not trying to lose a lot of weight, just keep things stable while reducing my cravings and hunger, which were major issues for me.

I used to get horrible diarrhea from triz, and I still have loose stools often. I feel much better when I take my shot every 5 days instead of increasing the dosage.

Sounds like this should be a haiku....

Comes and goes, the flow
Sometimes fast and sometimes slow
Peptides keep smooth flow

That's interesting. I'd be curious if this helps minimize any side effects. Thanks for sharing!

I've also heard that inulin powder can help with regularity. Just add a teaspoon to your morning coffee or tea.

I've found that avoiding cheese helps prevent constipation. Also, I saw someone mention fiber pills, but I would suggest trying a fiber powder instead, like Metamucil. The gummies are good too!

i'm using 20 clicks (5mg) from my 15mg pen and have 4 left plus the golden dose. needles i've got are 1mm longer than the originals but same thickness. long enough to get into the mounjaro vial? need 20 units.
