Too many supplements...halp!

Hong Kong Yanpep International
Handle the constipation. Feels miserable and worse over time. Doc recommended MiraLAX daily with no concerns. Easy and works. Many options here too.

Anyone else stacking Metformin with Oz on top of everything else? Trying to figure out if I should add more or dial something back.

Low iron in a male without an obvious dietary cause needs investigation rather than just supplementation - it usually points to blood loss or absorption issues, and supplementing without finding the cause delays the actual diagnosis. The investigation is the right first step.

Ferritin at 19 is the clinically relevant part of that symptom picture - joint ache, restless legs, and early exertional shortness of breath all sit comfortably in the low iron presentation. The hair loss piece too. Before adding supplements, the typical workup rules out active blood loss as the source. It is worth asking for a full iron panel rather than just ferritin when you go back.

Side effects worry me more than anything else honestly. Only need to shed around 20 lbs really, the bigger driver for me is my A1C and heart health. Genuinely hoping to get off the statin and the rest of my heart medications eventually.

Hola, welcome!! Did you get your iron levels tested? Losing weight can drop your ferritin, which leads to thin hair. Ive had thinning for years because of it. Hair growth apparently wants ferritin north of 70, on whichever scale. Funny, reading that reta users see it too accounts for my recent spike haha.
