Traveling with Glucagon-like Peptides?

Hello! I began taking semaglutide about 2 weeks ago. So far I’m down a solid 7 pounds. I have a trip planned June 7th-14th. I was wondering how you all travel with your medication since it needs to stay cold. Or would you just not dose that week? How would skipping work? Any help is greatly appreciated!

They sell travel containers made for keeping medication cool. The one I use needs to be placed in cool water for a moment and it keeps the meds cool. It dries after a few days, so you can either keep the meds in the refrigerator (remember to take it!) or re-soak the pouch.

I have used this for trips of 3-5 weeks with no issues.

I just got back from a 2 week trip and here’s how I did things...

I changed my injection day to the day before I left about a month prior to my trip. For me that was Wednesday and I only had to change it by a day.

I did my injection the night before I left.

I DID NOT inject the dose that occurred one week into my trip.

I injected my regular dose the day I got back.

My physician said to continue my regular dose amount when I got back. I was fine. HOWEVER check with your doctor.

If you're only gone for a week no need to stress, just take the injection the day before you fly out then the day you get back home.

If you have a mid-week injection day and you'd rather keep it that way, you have two options.

1) travel pouches are insulated and will keep your meds cool in a fridge at your destination

2) if you have wegovy/ozempic, they can be kept at room temperature for a month, so no need to keep cool at all during travels. Ask the pharmacy how long it can be kept at room temp.

I am going to be in Europe (Ireland, France & Germany) this summer for over a month, and I am trying to figure out how to take it. Has anyone had any problems taking sema with them to those locations?

I was so worried about injecting myself that I put off starting ozempic for a long time! I was taking the oral pills and had some success but then my weight loss stopped and I had to really watch my calories. Weight has always been an issue for me and I finally decided to start. The needle is very small! It was scary but worth it!

I use an ice pack and numb the area first lol, even though everyone says it doesn’t hurt. I don’t believe them. 😅

Same here! I use a lidocaine patch for about 30 mins before injecting. Makes a BIG difference.

Been on Ipamorelin/cjc1295 for a few weeks now. Everything was going great. After my injection I get a nice flushing 10 mins later. Sleeping well etc.

Last night did my injection and had extreme flushing with a racing heart almost immediately. My heart was pounding. I was using a tiny needle and when injecting I realized the needle wasn’t in very deep. I think I hit a vein.

I got that rapid heart thing every time when I used it. It stopped after a couple minutes. Injected in the stomach also. Used a short needle.

What we really need is someone with serious money who gets obsessed with making these therapies more accessible and affordable.

Sounds amazing trip. Traveling Europe in seventies must've been adventure. Afternoon under Leaning Tower sounds perfect. Happy ravioli happened in France not Italy.

People vary a lot in sensitivity. I'd suggest starting lower, maybe 0.25 or less, and sit with it for a couple days before moving forward. Better safe than sorry with new stuff.
