Triceps are Popping!

I can see my triceps! Never had that before. As the fat melts, my gym efforts are finally showing. Some shoulder definition too.

Weight loss has paused for the last 6 weeks or so but I got a new, demanding job. Plus, I'm thinking about going up to 12.5, since the hunger pangs are coming back a little.

That's great work! Remember that muscle takes up less space than fat, so you might be shrinking even if the scale isn't moving. I get how frustrating stalls are though. My doc just bumped me to 10 to try and bust through mine, and the 7.5 wasn't doing it anymore. Good luck moving up, you're killing it!

Wow, you've really busted your butt to get those muscles to stand out! I started doing arm targeting exercises too like 3-4 months ago, really hoping to get where you are with the triceps one day. Keep at it, you're crushing it on your medication journey, super inspiring

PS - I went up to 12.5mg near the end of last year, and it was a game changer. No need to be nervous about it. I've also found buying the 15mg pen, then going down has been helpful at 12.5mg because of shortages (at my nurse's suggestion). I think it was 2 months at the 12.5mg pen then went to 15mg titration. It's given me results the longest out of any dose so far.

I've been seeing some patients who are getting a lot of comments on their weight loss once they start to appear much thinner, even when they're still at a healthy BMI. It can be so frustrating to deal with other people's opinions on your body. Just remember you're doing this for your health and to feel good!

I've been reading about some people using peptides to help build muscle while they're losing weight on GLP-1s. Has anyone looked into that? I know there are a lot of options out there, but it seems like it could be a good way to maintain muscle mass.

I've definitely heard of that. I've been trying to focus on protein and strength training to minimize muscle loss, but I'm curious about other options too.

I'm definitely focusing on protein and trying to lift heavier. Didn't even realize I had triceps hiding under there!

Thanks for the kind words!

One thing I've learned through all this is that everyone has an opinion on everyone else's body. If you're larger, they say something. If you get smaller, they say something. Just focus on doing what's healthy for you.

welcome! people with type 2 usually see a jump once blood sugar normalizes. i lost fast because of inflammation and stuff, then slow-slog until 1mg and a-1c under 6. maintaining now at 5.5 and kidneys improved.

First shot Friday, just mild nausea with greasy food. Staying hydrated and getting protein in even though appetite is basically gone (which is awesome). Wondering if the next dose hits the same.

never used the same vendor twice, honestly. one delivery at free-ship threshold usually. did the 5mg-for-20-days thing—zero effects, but i take it like a vitamin and hope for long-term benefits anyway.
