Some of you might recall when I first came here - my blood sugar was a mess, and I was immediately started on a cocktail of meds: a GLP-1, an ACE inhibitor, Metformin, and a statin. I weighed 244 pounds at the time. I felt terrible.
Fast forward two years: I'm now 156, off all meds except Mounjaro (switched from Ozempic a month ago after a long stall). I can now go biking with my kid, I fit comfortably in any chair, and buying clothes is actually fun (though the sizing variations across different stores can be a bit of a mind trip). Food is no longer my only focus. I've got my life back. This medication has been transformative, and it's definitely not a shortcut. I'll be here to see my kid grow up, and I'm going to celebrate every non-scale victory!
