Two Years on GLP-1s!

Hard to believe it's almost been 2 years since I started this journey! October of '22 was when I decided enough was enough. And now, I'm down 110 lbs! So crazy.

Stats:
Height: 5'2"
Age: 33
Heaviest (Summer '21): 264 lbs
Starting (Oct '22): 245 lbs
Today (Sept '24): 154 lbs
Goal: 145 lbs

Just 9 lbs to go! I've got some loose skin, mostly on my arms and tummy.

After losing about 70 lbs, I treated myself to a Pilates membership (Fall '23) and I go 2-3 times a week. I haven't been on any specific diet, just cut back on sugar and eating fast food. I didn't exercise much the first year because of my weight; just did some walking.

My insurance covered the generic from Oct '22- Dec '23 without needing a diagnosis. Switched to brand name in Dec '23 and got a prior auth, so now it's just a small copay.

Keep up the great work, everyone!

Wow, congrats! I'm right there with ya at 22 months, down 108 lbs. You look fantastic, and I'm sure you feel even better!

That's incredible. You must have a ton more energy now.

Our timing and height are almost identical. I also kicked things off in Oct '22 around 225. Now I'm usually between 145 and 148. I never thought I'd be able to stick with it and actually lose this much; it's never happened before.

You look amazing! I'm a guy just finishing month two, losing weight slowly and still hungry all the time. It’s frustrating, but seeing your success gives me hope! Happy Anniversary!!!

I'm also a shortie at 5'2" and can't wait to have before and after pics like yours! I’m in my 7th month and on 12.5, just 22 lbs down so far. Still at 252, so I have a long way to go. One day at a time, right?!

Seriously inspiring! I've been on maintenance for a bit, and it's a different kind of challenge. Seeing posts like this helps me stay focused.

I'm worried about loose skin too... Alex76 Did the Pilates help with that at all?

Hey! I think it helped a bit, but I still have some. I'm hoping once I hit my goal weight and maintain for a while, it will improve further. I mainly do it for strength training, though!

For those concerned about loose skin, remember that gradual weight loss often results in less loose skin than rapid weight loss. Staying hydrated and incorporating collagen-boosting foods can also be beneficial. In some cases, surgical intervention may be considered.

I saw a post where someone started around 215 in Oct 2022 and now they are 142! Said they still have body image issues. That's kinda scary. Body dysmorphia is real, I guess.
