Type 2 under control!!

Just got back from the doc! My A1c was a crazy high 13% three months ago. I've been on a tiny dose of .25 of this stuff for a month, and now it's down to 8%! I also dropped about 6 pounds! Feeling really grateful for this medication.

That's amazing progress! I can't believe your A1c plummeted so quickly in just one month! And the weight loss is a nice bonus. Keep it up!

That's really encouraging. I imagine you'll be bumping up to .50 mg soon and seeing even more improvement. I got my A1c down to 6 after a few months at the .50 level.

Wow! That's incredible progress in such a short amount of time! I hope things continue to improve and you don't experience any troublesome side effects.

Congratulations! A1c reduction like that is a real game-changer. My A1C has decreased by over two points, but a five-point drop is just outstanding. I'm really thrilled for you!

That's great news! You're definitely benefiting from it! I was at 8.2% about a year and a half ago, and now I'm at 6.4%!

I started at a 13 A1c too, and it dropped fast. I was off insulin and just on metformin and this type of med within 6 months. I was on .5 for 3 years and it became less effective. My A1c crept up from 6 to 7.3. I'm starting 1 mg tomorrow, so I'm hoping it comes down again. It's been a game changer for my levels. Didn't need it for weight loss (I've lost maybe 10 lbs total), but the type 2 control has been amazing. Good luck!

I started this medication back in March after my A1c hit 7. I slowly increased to .5 mg weekly, and I've lost about 15 lbs from my 5'10" frame since then. Today my A1c is 5.7. My doctor seemed quite surprised! I also hit the treadmill and weights a few times a week. Plus, I seriously cut back on carbs and resisted cravings, which is almost impossible without the appetite reduction this med provides. Minimal side effects for me. Sharing this to encourage those just starting out – it *can* work! It could even extend our lives.

Interesting discussion on GLP-1s. I ran across some info about how these meds (semaglutide, specifically) might affect testosterone levels in men. Seems like some studies are looking into it, especially if you're also dealing with obesity or type 2. Might be worth checking out if anyone's concerned about that aspect.

Thanks for that heads up BioLog. As a guy, that's definitely something I'd want to keep an eye on. I'll do some reading on it.

I saw some info suggesting that GLP-1s might even help with things like erectile function and overall metabolic health in men, on top of the testosterone benefits. Definitely a lot of potential there!
