Until Last Month I Had No Idea What I Was Actually Weighing

I felt stupid when this clicked, so I am sharing it in case I am not alone. For years I assumed the cake in the vial was the peptide. Turns out lyophilized products are routinely mixed with bulking agents, mannitol being the common one, so the material survives freeze drying and ships without turning to dust. The amount of actual peptide, the net content, is a separate figure and it is smaller than the total mass sitting in that vial.

That is the part that bothered me. When I asked a few vendors which figure their dosing chart assumes, I got vague answers, or none. Some labels list net content clearly. Some basically hand you powder and let you guess. If your scale reads total mass and you treat all of it as active compound, your math is off before you even drew the water.

Genuine question for anyone who knows more than me, because I clearly missed this for a long time. When you calculate your dose, which figure are you using, gross weight or net peptide, and has anyone actually gotten a straight answer from a vendor on this.
