Upped to 1.7... side effects 😫

Just bumped up to 1.7mg about a month ago after being on 1.0mg. Haven't really seen much movement on the scale since then, but I'm definitely feeling it – queasiness, cramps, and super tired. Didn't really have any problems on the lower doses (.25 to 1.0). I was losing pretty consistently on 1.0, but then I hit a wall and the cravings came back.

I've lost about 28 pounds total (from 210 to 182), trying to reach 170. If these side effects don't chill out soon, I might have to go back down.

Any advice on how to deal with this? I'm eating a lot of protein and exercising 3-4 times a week. Will weight loss slow down as I get closer to my goal?

Oh man, I totally get that! I had a similar situation when I stalled on Wegovy and felt sick all the time. I ended up switching to a different program because they adjust the plan based on your symptoms. That 1.7 jump is notoriously brutal. It helped me push past that plateau without feeling completely awful.

I'm kinda in the same boat. Been on sema for around 5 months now. Lost like 30 pounds in the first 3 months. The last couple months have been way slower for me. I've lost another 5-7 pounds and I'm on 1mg. I'm aiming to lose another 10-20 pounds. I think it probably does get slower as you get closer to your goal. I started around 195 and am now at 159. I just keep reminding myself that this is still working better than anything else I've tried. I'm focusing on protein and fiber (140g and 30g per day) and clean eating. Someone mentioned muscle gain from working out can make the scale seem like you aren't losing as much weight, even if you're still losing fat. Maybe try taking measurements or using a special scale!

Thanks for the tip

I will look into that. I really don't want to go back down to 1.0 since the cravings came back.

Has anyone been feeling super cold all the time? I feel like I can't get warm anymore. I'm wondering if it's the meds, the calorie deficit, or just because I've lost some weight?

OMG, YES! I've been freezing! I think it's a combo of everything. Lost a layer of insulation!

Please be careful with rapid weight loss at a young age or if you are already at a low BMI. If you experience severe vomiting consider dropping your dose under medical supervision.

zero sides for me. started september for type 2 and watched a1c drop from 11 to 5.6. changed diet and activity and dropped 68 pounds. felt nothing until 1mg dose then increased to 2mg last month. if 1mg works stay with it.

Started October 4th 2025. Starting 96.2kg, current 77.6kg. Depending on the source. Some say one half to one, others two. Didn't ask about starting dose, it's what I picked. Tired of corrections.

Stall plus active side effects is the signal to pull back rather than push forward. A temporary step down to 1mg and slower re-titration usually resolves both.

Injection site variation in side effect load is real and individual. The back of arm runs higher for a lot of people because absorption is faster with less padding. Thigh and belly tend to be flatter. At 1.7mg, site is worth experimenting before assuming the dose is the issue.

Side effects at a new dose peak in the first 2 weeks and settle after that. 1.7 is where the biggest adjustment tends to happen. Smaller meals and staying hydrated on injection day are the main levers.

5 months to stabilize at 1mg is a real experience. The jump after that is scary because 1mg is the benchmark now. Each step usually adjusts faster than the last.
