Upping my dose - nervous!

My doc is moving me from 1mg to 2mg. I've been at 1mg for over a year for my type 2, and I've been stuck. He wants to lower my A1C more. I'm worried about a big side effect jump. Any tips from those who've done this already?

I went from 1mg to 2mg after being stalled for maybe a month and a half. It actually felt simpler for me than going from 0.5mg to 1mg had. Don't stress too much; cut back if needed.

I'm also going from 1mg to 2mg now. The endo says that because I've had hardly any bad side effects, it shouldn't be a problem. Just waiting for the delivery!

My doctor increased my dosage from 1 mg to 2mg. I thought I would try 1.5mg myself to test the waters. I tried it just one time and I couldn't detect any difference. I didn't notice any difference at 2mg either. But my A1C is now 4.2, pre-diabetic for the first time.

I went from 1 to 2 and didn't notice a difference. At the same time, my doc cut my Metformin from 1700mg a day to 850mg. Maybe less 'food thoughts' now, but that was already getting better. My average glucose is down 10% after the change. Haven't done the A1c yet, but my CGM shows a drop from 6.3% to 5.7%. Feels like the higher dose helps.

Are you taking any other meds for your diabetes besides this semaglutide medication?

Consider discussing Metformin and dapagliflozin with your doctor. Together, they can help with type 2 and insulin resistance. Plus, they can aid in weight loss, especially when combined with semaglutide.

I just did my first 2mg shot Sunday. I've had minimal side effects at all doses, to the point I wasn't even sure it was helping. I've had no new side effects so far, but I've been super full all day after my first meal both Monday and today. So it seems to be finally doing something!

I went up to 2.0 about a month and a half back. I'm actually getting concerned because I think I'm losing too much weight. People are starting to wonder if I'm ill. I started this to get my A1c down and maybe drop a few pounds. I've dropped about 25 pounds since starting at 180. My A1c went from almost 8 to 6.5 in two months. My morning readings are dropping and I think I'll be in the mid 5s soon. I might have to go back down just to bring my sugars up a little. Everyone reacts differently. DosePal, have you been losing?

I started Ozempic during the shortage a while back. It was a mess. I ended up having to count clicks for consistent doses. I went from 1 mg to 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, then 2 mg. Never had any side effects, but honestly my A1c and kidney function didn't improve much over that time. Weight loss slowed, too, but it continued.

My doctor just put me at 1.5mg, up from 1mg. Haven't felt much different so far. DosePal, if you think 2mg might give you a hard time, try splitting your 1mg dose into two shots a week for a bit.

I'm nervous too! I'm happy with my weight loss so far, but I'm still kinda 'skinny fat.' Should I stay where I am, or even go down on the dose? I'm scared of gaining it all back if I stop. This stuff has just killed all the food cravings I used to have.

It's important to remember obesity is often a chronic condition. Think of it like high blood pressure. If medication brings your blood pressure down to normal, you wouldn't just stop the meds, right? Because you know it'll go back up. Same idea.

I saw someone mention splitting doses. I've heard some people have good luck with that. If you're finding the .5mg jump too harsh, try doing .25mg on Monday and .25mg on Friday for a couple weeks, then go to the full .5mg when you feel ready. It might spread the dose out better and reduce side effects.

Anyone else have side effects vanish after bumping to 1mg? Was sick on 0.25 and 0.5, had to avoid foods. Then I hit 1mg expecting worse and they just... stopped. Two months in, haven't been sick once. Not complaining but food noise came back and I don't get full as quick. Thought 1mg hit harder.

been on Mounjaro 6.5 months, lost 20kg, about 8 to go. happy with my body now. low and slow at 4mg a week. started weight training in Feb, definitely putting on muscle so not worried about plateau last month. split dosing Fri/Tue reduces peaks where I felt sick.

bump it to 1mg every three days and you'll see the difference. two is the starting dose but there's no reason to sit low once you're past the side effects. i did 0.5 every two days until i hit 2 weekly, then 1 every three. lost four pounds a week early on.

Hard to say what 4mg klow means since it's a blend. Used tretinoin nightly plus klow (12 units, ~2mg ghk-cu per dose). Got small pimples around week 4 but cleared after a week, skin tone improved tons. Still doing 1mg ghk-cu daily now.
