Vial potency all over the place?

Hey folks, quick question... If a 25mg vial comes back from testing at 31mg, is it safe to assume the whole batch is like that? And should I adjust the sterile water when I mix it to account for the higher dose? Seems logical, but I'm new to this world and want to get some opinions. 😬 🫡

Thanks, I read it. 😀 But I don't think it answers my specific question. It talks about vials that are pretty close to the stated 12mg. If they're all almost 12mg, then yeah, call it 12mg and move on.

But mine is like, 24% over? Or am I missing something here?

You're right about the math, but in that other thread, we don't know what the vials are *supposed* to be. Maybe theirs were supposed to be 8mg and were overfilled to 10mg - same difference in percentage.

The good thing about that thread is they tested four vials, which tells you if the whole batch is consistent. One vial only tells you about *that* vial.

If you tested four of your own vials and they ranged from 24-30mg, you'd know you might sometimes be underdosing. If they were consistently 29-31mg, you'd feel better about using your 30mg result. But you can't know with just one test. Testing isn't cheap, I get it.

Exactly. Those vials were supposed to be 10mg, but they tested around 12mg. We told @JoonyO to go with the tested amount unless they wanted a "spicier" dose. They said no, because of possible side effects. 🙂

Just my two cents... when I start a new vial, I assume it's the dose stated on the label (if it says 15mg, I assume it's 15mg). When I figure out my dose, I go a little lower than I want. So, like, if I want 3mg per dose and that's, say, 30 units, I'd do like 26-28 units for the first dose and see how I feel. If it's not as strong as I'd like, I'll go up to 30 units. Play around with it! That's why I use the 30 and 50 unit syringes, because it is easier to measure small adjustments. I use that only for Reta. Something like glow, I'll just plan as stated...right or wrong 🤷‍♀️

Just to clarify, Nurse_Nikki_92, changing 2-4 units out of 30 is like changing .2-.4mg out of 3mg. It's basically just a tiny change, a rounding error really.

I wasn’t advising, I was saying what I do. And if the OP is worried about overfill, wouldn't lowering the dose slightly solve it? I know I'm not an expert, but I think meal-prep-pro and I are saying the same thing, essentially? Use the tested dose or use the stated dose for a potentially spicier experience. Each vial is a little experiment since you never know the true amount.

I kinda agree. I'd use the higher number. But even if four vials tested the same, you could still get vials from a different batch with the same cap and batch number. I don't have a solution. Testing each vial would be expensive. Testing more vials in a group test would also be expensive. I'd still go with the 31mg. I'm just not as confident as Slightly_Smaller that my vial is the same as the others.

While no vendor is perfect, some are tested very heavily. If they mixed batches, it would probably get noticed.

I'm pretty confident that the batch I get is what it says it is.

I have a high tolerance for this stuff.

If my tirz vial is 25 or 28mg, I won't even notice. Your results might vary.

I hate when they advertise the overfill. Like, "Tirz 28!" It's still tirz 25, ya cheapskate.

I won't buy from anyone who does that. Especially if they use shady testing places.

Thanks for pointing that out. I never figured out why they were suddenly selling the overfill as part of the product. I'm joining the boycott. 25 is 25!

In *your* case, the general consensus is to use the test result to figure out your dose. So you can get a more precise pin.

They're just trying to charge extra for the overfill.

I know I'm new, but everyone starts somewhere. Getting info from Reddit was a pain. 🤣

Thanks to JuGGaKnot for sharing info, even though the Discord link wasn't quite what I needed. He said, "Read for a week before buying." Of course, I bought it the next day...🤣🤣🤣

It was from a vendor I saw here, so we'll see how it goes. Crypto is a pain for an old guy like me... not ready for that yet. (that's what the "week" is for, I guess. lol
