Wait, is this actually happening??

So, I had a 14oz steak planned for dinner, something I'd normally devour. I got through maybe half and just...stopped. No cravings, no desire. Is this real life?

This is a great time to really pay attention to your body's signals. I used to think I had normal eating habits, but this med has shown me how much I was overeating. It's like having training wheels for healthier habits. Hopefully I can maintain after stopping the shots.

It delays your stomach emptying and reduces reward signals in the brain. Be careful with super rich foods, they can cause issues. Smaller plates help psychologically. Also, discuss timing of other meds with your pharmacist, especially if any need to be spaced out from food. I was on for a year and a half, and maintained my weight loss for a year afterwards. It also helped with skin elasticity, which is great because rapid weight loss can cause skin sagging. I never went above the starting dosage and lost about 65 pounds. I realized I needed to adjust the timing of some of my meds. Specifically SSRIs, since absorption could be affected by gastric delay. Not medical advice, just my experience.

I usually order off the kids' menu now, or my husband and I split an adult meal. My teenager eats enough for everyone (swim team!).

It's fantastic, right?! My mom always told me to stop eating before I was full, and I could never do it. Now it's easy. I stop eating and I'm still a little hungry, but I don't feel the need to keep going!

I've been stuck at the same weight on Wegovy for two months now, but I'm going up a dose on Friday. Fingers crossed it helps! But my heart rate and joint pain have improved!

It's incredible. I'm on week 4. The constant thoughts about food have quieted down. I used to order delivery multiple times a week, and now it's once a week. On Thanksgiving, I ate like I used to and spent half the night in the bathroom. Thank goodness I was at home!

Before I never noticed appetite or craving changes linked to my cycle. On this stuff? Definitely notice—the week before my period my appetite's stronger and food noise comes back some. Clears up once my period starts.
