Week 1 on GLP-1 - anyone else?

Can’t believe I’m already feeling changes after just a week. Seriously didn’t expect this.

My hunger is like, way less intense.

The constant thoughts about food have quieted down a lot.

And I'm eating smaller portions without even trying.

It's early days, but I’m optimistic.

For those of you with more experience, does this keep getting better?

The Week 1 feels are legit. My mental obsession with food chilled way before the scale budged. A bunch of people I know on similar meds have mentioned that same early 'wow' moment.

I had a similar start. Almost at the 2-month mark (currently on 0.5mg) and I'm not sure if the effects have increased, but the mental quiet and decreased appetite have stuck around. I'm supposed to go up to 1mg soon, but I think I'll stick with 0.5mg if it keeps working.

Four weeks in, and I'm down about 9 lbs at 0.25. It’s happening naturally since I'm not as hungry, even though I'm working with a nutritionist and have medical support. I'm happy to stay at this dose as long as I keep losing.

Constipation is definitely an issue, but it's improving with fiber supplements, more water, and a high-fiber diet.

That's awesome... I was getting worried because after a month on 0.25 (and starting at 340 lbs), nothing seemed to be happening. But after three weeks at 0.50, I'm finally seeing results! My clothes are getting loose, which is a great sign. Can't wait to up the dose next week!

It really is great. Making sure I get my protein is easy now, and I sleep so much better and have more energy. I kicked gluten and coffee without a fight, my sleep is better, and I can actually finish projects without needing to snack constantly. Eating once a day works for me now.

I know someone who always wanted a magic pill to fix their relationship with food. Turns out? These meds can be it. They literally wished for something like this since they were a kid, to just feel normal around food. It's kind of amazing. Some of us really carry silent battles with food, body image, and, for me, bullying, but meds like this light the path forward. Now they're wearing a bikini for the first time in their life.

I can totally relate to

. Food noise used to rule my life until I tried this. I didn’t even realize how big of a deal it was until it disappeared.

As a physician, I see the health impact of excess weight every day. People who say taking Ozempic or getting weight loss surgery is 'cheating' are missing the point. It's about empowering yourself to improve your health.

I totally get needing this med. I was seriously thinking about surgery last year, I'd just had enough. Always hungry, could only diet for 3 months max, lose about 40lbs and then gain it all back and often more. Now I'm down almost 100lbs and still losing. Just not being hungry all the time is life-changing. I've even forgotten to eat a couple of times! Never thought I'd say that.

I agree with @Riley03. I have a family history of diabetes, and I used to think you had to have diabetes to use this. But if taking a med like this helps prevent someone from developing type 2 diabetes, then it's a great option. Prevention is key!

Need to be functional Thursday so I'm thinking Thursday night when Friday's half work, then home for the weekend and quiet Monday. I'm not tough. Nausea especially I can't push through. Help so I can fill my script and start.

Trying the belly this week since my thigh bruising got darker than last time. I use numbing cream, then ice, then put on headphones with relaxing music while my partner does the injection for me. The longer needles definitely look scarier than they are!

I took a week break once to fix constipation and get rehydrated. Didn't change my eating approach. Same dose when I went back and it worked great. Found a routine that keeps things moving now.

Can't really point to any hard improvement. Maybe better sleep from the timing. I stop eating at 7pm and use other stuff before bed, so sleep's been solid for a while anyway. Thought I was losing eyesight sharpness but it stopped — back to 20/15 or so. Changed a bunch of other things last year too.

I was nervous too but started Saturday and no nausea or GI stuff. Been eating light—protein shakes, bars, sparkling water, topo Chico is amazing. Already down 7 lbs.

Curious if anyone experienced worsening symptoms starting KPV? Been on it 3 weeks, 500mcg daily. Noticed major eczema flare the last week. Hope it's a healing thing and improves. Taking a break to check.

amazing success story, thanks for that. didn't realize the dopamine adjustment was such a big thing for me and i'm struggling with it. replaced binge eating with calorie obsession. food noise is gone but now i'm obsessed another way. working with my therapist on balance and enjoying food without the old patterns.
