Wegovy savings?!? 🤔 Legit?

I live in the Netherlands. My out-of-pocket for Wegovy is about €160 per month for the smaller doses and €240 for the higher ones. I know, I know, some places are way worse off, but remember our wages are different here too. Anyway, it hit me today as I passed on some cookies I would've inhaled half a year ago: I'm actually SAVING money because I'm not buying as much junk! I used to spend a fortune on snack food, it's kinda embarrassing. So, yeah, I think I'm ahead of the game here money-wise. Plus, think of all the future doctor visits I'm dodging! 12 weeks in, down almost 13kg!

That's interesting. I haven't heard anything about it here, but I'll keep an eye out. It would be great if prices came down globally!

To answer Rory_2004, the patent expiration simply allows generic manufacturers to produce the drug. It will still take time for them to get approval and manufacture it. Expect generics maybe by next year. Some are estimating they might be 60-70% cheaper when they finally hit stores.
