Wegovy stalled after switch?

I changed from Zepbound to Wegovy a few months ago and haven't seen a huge difference on the scale. I've gradually increased the dose and am currently at 1.7mg, moving up to 2.4mg soon. Does Wegovy actually start to work at 2.4mg?

The meds only augment what you do and only "work" if you reduce intake. Are you feeling like your appetite is less? Are you tracking or measuring what you are eating? Weight loss in the beginning normally comes off easier if you are in a deficit. Do you overeat? Or eat because of your emotional state? If so I suggest (if you aren’t already) seeking help to develop coping mechanisms and possibly medication if needed. You can totally do this!!!

I'm taking 1.7mg Wegovy and feeling hungry pretty often and experiencing sugar cravings I can't seem to overcome. And I'm not exercising as much because of the weather lately. Together, these issues are keeping me from maintaining a decent calorie deficit. My weight has been fluctuating like that since the start of the year - no real weight loss in 2026 so far. I don't know if increasing the dose will help because I increased it from 1mg to 1.7mg and it didn't make any difference. I'm learning to live with hunger now and trying to ignore my sweet tooth, in hopes that the weather turns and I have more walks. I've stopped drinking alcohol during the week. I need to eat more protein and fiber! I'm reminding myself of the progress I've made to stay motivated!! Best of luck!! Let me know if 2.4mg is better.

I had a similar experience. I started a semaglutide med back in September. I lost about 30 lbs in my first three months. Then I didn't lose a single pound for about 2 months. I just kept at it-- tracking my calorie, fiber, and protein intake. Then the scale finally started moving again and I'm down another 5 lbs which puts me at 35 lbs down in about 6 months overall. Don't give up!

I've lost 21% of my weight on wegovy and the appetite suppression started at 0.5mg so idk. I know that if you ignore it and continue your eating habits that you eventually stop feeling the effects regardless of the dose. Going to your doctor might be worth doing.

That's frustrating. Sometimes it's about dose changes or lifestyle fixes instead of the drug by itself. A telehealth provider helped me when my progress slowed down.

I'm in the same boat. I started 3 months ago, and haven't lost a pound, dang it. I think I'm just not able to lose fat. I strength train a lot though.

I'm doing everything correctly & month 3 and nada. 7 lbs. I'm eating 1000 calories a day

That is a really low calorie intake, maybe you should consult a registered dietician. Sometimes severely restricting calories can backfire and cause your body to hold onto fat for survival.

I saw someone post about their progress after switching between different meds. They started with one, then switched to another for several months, and then back to a different one. They went from 260+ to just over 200lbs and said they have more muscle now too. Maybe switching things up can help break a plateau!

That's encouraging! I may ask my doctor if rotating between meds could be a good strategy if I stall again.

Someone I follow online posted about their year-long progress and it was really motivating! They lost a significant amount of weight using sema and then tirz. It's great to see the long-term results and remember to keep going even when things get tough.
